The oft-ported action horror classic “Resident Evil 4” is being reanimated yet again in a definitive sounding “Ultimate Edition”, which will bring the HD remaster that released on consoles in 2011 to PC, where it will run in 60 frames per second for the first time ever. It will also bring with it a handful of visual upgrades exclusive to this edition, including more improved textures, sharper in-game text, and widescreen optimization.
The “Resident Evil 4 HD Ultimate Edition” is scheduled to release on February 28th for $19.99. Those who pre-order it on Steam will also get its (amazing) soundtrack and a digital artbook.
I’m always looking for another reason to return to one of my all-time favorite video games, but I think we’d all be better off if we skipped this foreplay. Dear Capcom, stop being a tease and bring us a full-on next-gen remake. And while you’re at it, I’d also like a remake of one (two, or all) of the first three games. Another Outbreak would be nice, too, and you practically owe us one after Operation Raccoon City.
Yours sincerely, Adam.
