Microsoft has detailed their plans for the now expected pre-E3 media briefing, and it looks like they’re going to try their best to follow through on that whole “video games first” plan they mentioned last month. They’re calling the event Game On, and it sounds like the glorious return to form that gamers have been looking for after a couple years of mixed messages and uncertainty surrounding the Xbox One as a platform for video games.
According to Microsoft, Game On will offer in-depth looks at games that have already been announced, as well as introduce brand new IPs coming in 2014 “and beyond.”
Phil Spencer, the newly appointed head of Xbox, said last month that the event was already “overstuffed” with video game news and announcements, and that some of the news will come sometime later this month.
Game On goes live on June 9 at 9:00 a.m. PDT — you can stream it on Xbox.com, Xbox Live, Spike TV, and Windows Phone.
E3 2014 kicks off on June 10 and ends on June 12.
