[E3 2014] Ubisoft Reveals New Footage from ‘The Division’

Ubisoft is investing a lot into the idea that open-world games are the future. Both Assassin’s Creed and Watch Dogs have paid off big time for them, so the push isn’t all that surprising. One of their more ambitious upcoming open-world games is The Division, a post-apocalyptic shooter that was revealed at last year’s E3.

The Division follows a squad of agents who are trying to bring order to a chaotic New York City after a pandemic is released on Black Friday, killing much of the population. Enjoy some new gameplay footage below.

  • Watch dogs was totally awesome – I am still playing it! Interesting what Ubisoft has been trying to do since. I thought WD was a step towards the right direction when it comes to open world games with realistic gravity and collision effects and human behaviour/reaction.

    • Adam Dodd

Completely agree. It’s the first open-world game that feels “next-gen” because it did things that couldn’t be done on the 360/PS3. I absolutely love the game, even though Aiden’s weird Batman impersonation bothers me to no end.

      • Yeah I know what you mean. He is a bit blunt with a scruffy voice and the whole depressed/blame myself persona. But everything else- especially the supporting cast is great!
