‘The Conjuring’ Spinoff, ‘Annabelle’, Release Confirmed…

New Line Cinema has dated Annabelle, New Line’s spinoff of The Conjuring, haunting theaters October 3, 2014.

This confirms our speculation that the film was on the way this year.

Annabelle Wallis, Alfre Woodard and Ward Horton are starring in Annabelle with John Leonetti, the cinematographer on The Conjuring, directing from a script by Gary Dauberman. Eric Ladin and Brian Howe also star.

The Conjuring included a haunted doll named Annabelle as part of a collection of demonic objects assembled by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who were portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

Speaking of The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2 is still penciled down for release on October 23, 2015, taking that weekend away from a potential sixth Paranormal Activity. Carey Hayes and Chad Hayes are penning the sequel.

  • This is….really soon.

Well it’s been done filming since like January so it’s not like it has had a rushed production or anything. Hopefully a trailer hits sometime later this month or early August, because October is indeed right around the corner.

I wasn’t expecting that the date were so soon, but if they didn’t rush anything maybe ended up being something really good.

  • I personally found Annabelle to be the creepiest part of The Conjuring and while I enjoyed the movie I found myself wanting more of that particular story. I was quite happy to hear they were moving forward with a spin-off and now a confirmed theatrical release date? Ticket fucking sold.

Im more excited to see this then The Conjuring sequel. That doll was freakin creepy.

How great to actually get a horror movie release during Halloween time but this money, effort, and wide theatrical release should be put into Chucky instead.

    • Travis

Awe, but Curse of Chucky may have been the worst horror movie I’ve seen in years.

  • Des

Kill it. Kill it with fire. Throw creepy doll in a wood chipper. Even the image gives me creepies!

  • Chris Burks

The real doll is a Raggedy Ann doll. Much less menacing.
