Both God and the Devil to Appear In ‘Prometheus 2’?!

Published

on

When Ridley Scott’s Prometheus came to an end, it left us hanging in a big way. Survivor Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) shoots off into space in hopes of finding the Engineers’ home planet, and making them explain to her why they wanted to kill all life on Earth.

Green Lantern‘ writer Michael Green is currently penning the sequel, which is once again shrouded in mystery. While it will stray even further away from Scott’s Alien franchise, Rapace, in an interview with MTV UK, talks through Shaw’s mention state following the events of the first film:

I know that Elizabeth Shaw wants to go to paradise. I say that in the first one. I don’t wanna go back. She can’t go to Earth. There’s nothing left for her there really. She wants to go where they come from, those giants, those creatures. In her head that’s the dark paradise. What’s there? She wants answers. She wants to know. I feel like I’m sharing her curiosity but also her anger.
We all want answers, sister. And as to what kind of antagonists Elizabeth and David the synthetic human will face?

But the big reveal is where she ends up, potentially spoiling a major reveal planned for the sequel. According to Rapace, Shaw may have a run-in with two of the most powerful Gods of them all: God and Satan…

“God, maybe? God or [the] Devil. I don’t know. I don’t know where [Ridley Scott’s] gonna take us but I can’t wait to go there.”

She clearly isn’t sure, and I think it’s the next logical step for the Prometheus films, but it’s definitely a fun thought to try and imagine what Scott’s physical interpretation of God and Satan will be…

Fede Alvarez’s (Evil Dead, Don’t BreatheAlien: Romulus will be unleashed in theaters nationwide on August 16, and Entertainment Weekly brings us two new images today.

The first image you’ll find below gives us another fresh look at the film’s Xenomorph, with Alvarez promising the outlet that it’s the most H.R. Giger-faithful Xenomorph of them all.

Entertainment Weekly writes, “… Alvarez promises [the Xenomorph’s design] is closer to H.R. Giger’s original creation than any other iteration.” The late H.R. Giger was of course integral to Ridley Scott’s Alien, designing the iconic monster the franchise is centered on.

The other image you’ll find below gives us a look at two of the human characters from Alien: Romulus, Archie Renaux’s Tyler and Cailee Spaeny’s heroine Rain Carradine.

Head over to Entertainment Weekly for their full preview of the upcoming film.

Here’s the full official plot synopsis for Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus, which comes in the wake of Disney reviving the Predator franchise in spectacular fashion with last year’s Prey
