David Leslie Johnson, who penned Orphan, as well as Wrath of the Titans and two episode of “The Walking Dead,” has been hired to rewrite The Conjuring 2 for New Line and director James Wan, TheWrap writes.
Johnson will rewrite an earlier draft Wan penned with Chad and Carey Hayes, with revisions by Eric Heisserer (A Nightmare On Elm Street, Final Destination 5, The Thing).
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will return as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Production is expected to start this summer with plans to release on June 10, 2016.
