Here’s Who’s Directing Episodes of “Ash vs Evil Dead”

With Sam Raimi directing the pilot presentation of the new Starz original series, “Ash vs Evil Dead”, we wondered who else would be getting behind the camera.

During our interview with Robert Tapert, Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell yesterday evening, we got some answers.

Joining Raimi in the director’s chair are Michael J. Bassett, who helmed Solomon Kane, pictured, Deathwatch and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D; Canadian filmmaker David Frazee who shot a few episodes of “Orphan Black”; New Zealander Michael Hurst of “Xena” and “Spartacus” fame; Aussie Tony Tilse who shot “Underbelly”; “Xena” and “Spartucus” vet Rick Jacobson is responsible for the season finale.

In other interesting news, “Joe De Luca will be doing the soundtrack on this,” explains Tapert. “We’re also working with some older classic rock music from the 70’s and early 80’s becauce Ash became stunted due to the developments in his life,” he adds, “and hasn’t gone past those moments.”

Lastly, Raimi speaks about working with older generation, revealing that Army of Darkness and The Hurt Locker‘s Bob Murawski will be editing the pilot.

Jesus fuck Brad you’ve been around the industry for how long and still don’t know the difference between a pilot and a pilot presentation? So many mistakes in every article these days.

  • Michael J Basset – yes. The man did a great job with Solomon Kane – shame we will not see a sequel 🙁

    OH GOD
    YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?
ITS GONNA BE NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINALS AND IGNORE SOURCE MATERIALS AS WELL AS MAKE UP AN ORIGIN STORY!

despite that, excited as hell, I love the Solomon Kane film even if it does horrible in portraying how Kane is and lacks mah main boi N’Longa and our beloved cat headed staff.

Love The Evil Dead too though.
