[E3 2015] ‘Killing Floor 2’ is About to Get Even More Gruesome

In the months leading up to the Early Access release of Killing Floor 2, Tripwire Interactive often mentioned how impressive its gore system was. Now that it’s been out on Steam for going on two months, I’ve spent enough time with it to confirm that it lived up to the hype. This game goes out of its way to give Gorehounds a safe place to indulge in the life-sustaining fluids of their enemies, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement.

Tripwire made an appearance at the inaugural PC Gaming Show earlier this evening to share a timeline of what’s to come for Killing Floor 2, and all of it is worth getting excited over.

For starters, the already very impressive gore rendering system will be improved via a free update so the next time you use a shotgun to obliterate a Zed’s head, pieces of that head will cling to the ceiling like macabre streamers. The developer also announced an Incinerate N’ Detonate Pack that comes with a handful of new weapons and perks that ought to appeal to pyromaniacs.

The final bit of good news came when they confirmed there will be no more progress wipes. Starting today, when you play the game, you can do so without the fear of losing everything when the next update rolls out.
