‘Blood Feast’ Is Back For Another Bite

July 6 2015 marked 52 years since the splatter genre was created with Herschell Gordon Lewis’ Blood Feast and now the film is getting a remake with the support of the ‘Godfather of Gore’.  Robert Rusler (A Nightmare On Elm Street 2, Vamp, Tales of Halloween) will step into the eyebrows of the famous exotic caterer alongside Caroline Williams (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Hatchet III, Contracted).  Practical effects will be severed & served by Ryan Nicholson (Final Destination, Grave Encounters 2, Dead Rising: Watchtower).

Here’s the official word from the press release & synopsis of the film which goes to camera in September.

BLOOD FEAST is coming back: Much harder, bloodier and a must-see for every gore fan.

Fuad Ramses and his family have moved from the United States to France, where they run an American diner. Since business is not going too well, Fuad also works night shifts in a museum of ancient Egyptian culture. During these long, lonely nights he is repeatedly drawn to a statue representing the seductive ancient goddess ISHTAR. He becomes more and more allured by the goddess as she speaks to him in visions. Eventually he succumbs to her deadly charms. After this pivotal night, Fuad begins a new life, in which murder and cannibalism become his daily bread. He starts to prepare a ritual FEAST to honor his new mistress, a lavish affair dripping with BLOOD, organs, and intestines of human victims. As butchered bodies are heaped upon the Altar of Ishtar, Fuad slowly slips further into madness, until he is no more than the goddess’s puppet; and she thirsts for the blood of Fuad’s wife and daughter too…

To follow the progress of the project & maybe even get an invite to dinner you can connect on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.

In the spirit of transparency I heard about the project through working alongside the communications company handling the film.

I love the Original one, i think Nicholson and Walz are the right guys. Not any Hollywood boys, this Remake wants Indie touch with more Gore !

so you mean you and nicholson are the right guys? i guess if you have no 1 mio + budget you should leave this masterpiece alone. it does not deserve a low budget remake that burries the film forever … just like that the fog remake did (and this had a big budget at least)
