The trailers deliver on its promise to be an ass-kickin’, smart-mouthed good time that’s loaded with excellent comic book violence. One is red-band, which means is extra juicy.
Directed by Tim Miller and penned by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Zombieland), the film stars Ryan Reynolds as ‘Wade Wilson/Deadpool’, Morena Baccarin as ‘Vanessa Carlyle/Copycat’, Ed Skrein as ‘Francis/Ajax’, Gina Carano as ‘Angel Dust’, T.J. Miller as ‘Weasel’, Brianna Hildebrand as ‘Negasonic Teenage Warhead’, and Andre Tricoteux as ‘Colossus’.
“Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, ‘Deadpool’ tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool.
