      Yeah, it’s pretty damn good.

Easy question: Would you go see the movie based on this poster alone? “Probably not.”

Can you say that about the original poster? Probably not. 😉

  • TheSlitheryDee

What a beaut. I’d love to hang that baby up.

  • Pablo S. Martinez Suarez

Wow!!! I love it!! the best Jaws poster ever!!

  • Nightflyre9

I’m not feeling this at all. If you’re gonna go that literal, then why not just re-imagine the original poster, which is a million times more provocative? Even something along the lines of a simple buoy floating in the ocean with a bloody hand print on it and a tag line like “Who’s up for a swim?” would have been better. And what’s up with the hand? I’m sorry, this just doesn’t translate for me.

    • Backatcha

This doesn’t translate to you as you appear to have missed the very essence of the poster. “What’s up with the hand?”…..? This is a genius concept for an alternative poster…..the delicious introduction of Quint; his screeching finger nails silencing the room….. gives me goose pimples just thinking about it! And that is the land where this poster is coming from. I love love love that scene and for the hardcore Jaws fans out there this poster will strike to the core. This is a poster for the true fan. The fan that has Jaws bubbling away in their blood. The fans that know every classic line and every camera angle, every inch of Speilberg’s masterpiece. We are the born and bred! Jaws is in our veins. Not a poster for the newbie. What would be the point in that?. Leave that to the brilliant original poster. Alternative film posters need to work in very different ways. Which is why I think this poster is so dynamic.

So sorry Nightflyre9, for once you show yourself to be out of your depth. Paddle back to safer shallower waters.

(Get working on that bloody handprint idea, can’t wait to see that one visualised!)
