SPiN “Zombie Girl” Video Premiere [Exclusive]

Published

on

We’ve teamed up with Philly rock band SPiN to bring you the exclusive music video premiere for their track “Zombie Girl”! Just in time for Halloween, the video is full of sexy ladies, eviscerated men, and loads of gore!

Guitarist/vocalist Hank Cieplinski explains how the video came to be:

Around this time last year we brought up the idea of writing a Halloween song. We wanted something edgy and dark but still have a good hook – I think we succeeded in that vision. We got lots of treatments from various directors for this song, but after reading John’s notes and talking to him, we thought he was a good fit. He basically spoke our language regarding the song and concept. Then he showed us some pics of the actress he had in mind for our Zombie Girl (Laura Petersen) and we were pretty instantly sold!

“Zombie Girl” comes from the band’s latest EP Jar of Lies. which you can buy via iTunes.

Director John Woods adds:

In my mind the song has a fun but sadistically slick vibe, much like the hard rock party anthems in the eighties, which I really wanted to play on in the video. The idea was to tell the story of a white collar working stiff who fantasizes about a steamy encounter with a sexy zombie girl after visiting a website called MyZombieGirl.com. The fantasy quickly turns into more of a twisted nightmare in which our main character is being led through a bloody maze of sexy female zombies and he’s not sure if he should be turned on or frightened. The chemistry between the two main characters was, again, inspired by the eighties culture and a lot of the popular movies at that time such as “Once Bitten” and “Weird Science” where you have the average guy being the object of a stunningly attractive female’s attention. The song has a driving upbeat nature to it while the lyrics paint very seductive dark imagery. The juxtaposition of the music and lyrics allows the audience to take in the message of the song in a playful way, which I feel will really turn people on.
