Appearing on an episode of the podcast Killer POV, Sandy King Carpenter, the wife of renowned horror director John Carpenter, revealed that four shows are in the process of being developed. Carpenter would be the executive producer of the shows as well as direct the pilots.
King Carpenter, who is a frequent producer alongside her husband, explains:
Right now, there’s four series waiting to go to network. As far as I’m concerned, we’ll do all of them. I mean, they’re great, and they’re different from anything that’s out there, and they again push the boundaries of what’s horror. [John] would be directing pilots and we would be executive producing them. There’s sci-fi, there’s horror, there’s one that I guess would be [a] sci fi-horror futuristic kind of thing. They’re all across the board. I think they’ll fulfill what people expect out of him by also being unpredictable.
There is no word yet on what the shows are and what style of horror they’ll be. It’ll be interesting to see if any of them, much less all of them, will actually make it to the small screen.
Carpenter’s last foray onto the small screen were the two episodes he directed for the “Masters of Horror” series, including my personal favorite of the series “Cigarette Burns”.
