Become a Bounty Hunter in ‘Dying Light: The Following’

Published

on

There’s still plenty time left to find a dune buggy buddy before Dying Light: The Following arrives, and remember, a good buggy buddy checks your six, often, and knows things you should, but don’t. For instance, I know dick about cars most of the things you might expect to find on a road, so my buggy buddy will know what to do if a zombie’s face got stuck in the transmission.

Pairing up with your ideal buggy buddy is only pertinent if you’re planning on getting The Following. If that’s not your plan, you may still want to know about the enhancement update that’s releasing alongside it, free-of-charge. It’s bringing the endgame content, like meta-levels and bounties that feed your insatiable appetite for unlocking stuff by doing things.

There will be three types of Bounties: Basic, Daily and Community. Basic is unlocked by finishing the story, and they’ll have you doing things you would normally do, such as survive a night in Harran. Dailies are more involved, so you’ll have to go out of your way complete them, and the final type is more of a metagame that requires the participation of many players.

Dying Light: The Following releases on Feb 9 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78

In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).

Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.

While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.

The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.

Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.

We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
