And the E3 rumor mill keeps on churning. The latest is all about the planned follow-up to Undead Labs’ wildly popular post-apocalyptic zombie survival game State of Decay. Supposedly, it’ll make an appearance at Microsoft’s zombie-themed pre-E3 press conference, alongside our very first look at Dead Rising 4. The original game was a gargantuan success that broke records when it released three years ago, becoming one of the fastest-selling XBLA games of all time.
It’s an obvious candidate for a sequel. The only question is what kind of sequel will we get with State of Decay 2, because I doubt it’ll be the MMO that Undead Labs originally planned it to be — back when we knew it as Class 4 — before the spectacular collapse of the MMO genre.
Kotaku’s Jason Schreier says it’s time to duck. I say it’s time to run outside, arms outstretched and mouths agape, like we’re trying to catch snowflakes. E3 is going to be ridiculous.
Microsoft's E3 press conference theme will be death: Dead Rising 4, State of Decay 2, Xbox One…

Come on, Valve. The stage is set. Show us Left 4 Dead 3 so it can join State of Decay 2, Dead Rising 4, Resident Evil 7 and Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Season 3 in making this the Ultimate E3 Zombie Spectacular.
