‘Dawn of the Dead’ 4K Restoration Getting Italian Blu-ray; Art Reveal

You may want to invest in a region-free player.

Last month, a newly restored version of George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and as we recently told you, producer Dario Argento and The Neon Demon director Nicolas Winding Refn were on hand to introduce the film. The 4K restoration of the seminal zombie classic’s European Cut (known by the title Zombi) is the handiwork of Koch Media in collaboration with Norton Trust and Antonello Cuomo, and we’re happy to report that it’s soon headed to home video over in Italy.

Being released November 17th on 4K Ultra HD, the massive set includes one 4K disc and a whopping FIVE Blu-ray discs, the latter discs containing the European Cut on standard Blu-ray and full-screen Blu-ray, along with the theatrical cut and extended theatrical cuts on Blu-ray. The final disc is packed with extras, many brand new and exclusive to this release.

Check out the art and full release details below!

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.

If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
