This ‘Star Wars’ vs. ‘Aliens’ Mashup Art Series is Way Too Cool

Published

Like seriously. You may not even be able to handle this.

If you thought it was cool that LV-426 appeared in Rogue One, then you are absolutely going to love the world that Guillem H. Pongiluppi has been using his incredible talents to bring to life. Pongiluppi, a huge fan of both the Alien and Star Wars franchises, has brought the two together for a mind-blowing series of mashup art that is guaranteed to make you happy-cry.

But first, a little bit about the artist.

Born in Barcelona, Guillem H. Pongiluppi is a freelance illustrator specializing in historical research and virtual archeology. He works in art direction, conceptual art and matte painting for pre-production, and post-production for audiovisual and videogames. Most recently, Pongiluppi worked on conceptual art and on matte paintings for this year’s Warcraft movie.

Okay, now that the introduction is out of the way, onto the art!

Pongiluppi sets the stage for the mashup series:

It looks like there is a plague of Space Cockroaches at the LV-426 planet, also called Acheron by the colons. The authorities of that zone sent a group of Colonial Marines to exterminate the beasts, but it turned to be an absolute fail, and all the soldiers died. Now the Empire, tired of the problems that the plague is causing, has sent a detachment of Stormtroopers of the 501st Legion: Vader’s Fist: the pride of the Empire, the motherfuckers most badass in the galaxy…

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.

Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things),  Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.

The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).

Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.

Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.

Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.

In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
