Someone Made a ‘Re-Animator’-Inspired Freddy Glove and It’s Amazing

Published

on

Let’s get… re-animated!

One of the most iconic scenes in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors is the death of drug addict Taryn White, who Freddy Krueger forcibly overdoses on the most lethal nightmare drug on the market. His fingers literally turn into syringes filled with the blue death cocktail, and even the knives on his glove become syringes. Well that movie glove has just been used as the basis for a mashup Freddy glove that is honestly one of the coolest things we’ve ever seen.

The man behind Nightmares Unlimited devotes much of his time to creating his own high-quality Freddy gloves and other screen-accurate replica props, and after acquiring the Re-Animator license, he decided to fuse together two of his favorite horror icons. He explains:

Wanted to combine the first replica I ever made (part 3 glove) with my first license (Re-Animator). Made perfect sense to make a syringe glove for this mash-up!

Yes, he made the first ever Herbert West killing glove, and etched into the plate on front of the glove is an image of Jeffrey Combs as West. As for the fingers of the glove, they’re syringes filled with West’s green re-animating serum, and coolest of all, the serum glows in the dark!

Goddamn this is badass. Check it out below.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78

In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).

Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.

While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.

The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.

Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.

We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
