R.I.P. Prolific Actor Miguel Ferrer Has Passed Away

Published

Today we’re sad to report that Miguel Ferrer lost his battle with cancer. He was 61.

A prolific and totally unmistakable actor with well over 100 films and television shows on his resume, Ferrer made a handful of stops in the horror genre throughout his career, notably appearing in Stephen King adaptations The Stand and The Night Flier. He also starred in three episodes of “Tales from the Crypt” in the early ’90s, and did uncredited voicework on the 1997 mini-series iteration of “The Shining.” Of course, Ferrer is known to many genre fans as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield in “Twin Peaks,” a role he reprised for Showtime’s upcoming revival of the series.

One of Ferrer’s earliest breakout roles saw him play the sleazy Bob Morton in RoboCop, and he’s perhaps best known to the masses thanks to his extended starring roles in shows like “Crossing Jordan” and “NCIS: Los Angeles.” He spent much of his career on the small screen, also recurring on “Desperate Housewives,” “The Protector,” and “Bionic Woman.”

Miguel Ferrer, the son of Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney, and cousin of George Clooney, is survived by his wife Lori, sons Lukas and Rafi, and siblings Maria, Gabriel, Monsita, and Rafael.
