Joel Edgerton Thriller ‘It Comes at Night’ Gets a Mysterious Poster

On August 25th, It Comes at Night.

When it comes to marketing their films, A24 is aces, and it doesn’t hurt that their output tends to be of the highest quality. The company behind The Witch and Green Room, A24 is currently on a roll, and they hope to continue that forward momentum with director Trey Edward Shults’ It Comes at Night. And with Joel Edgerton (The Gift) in the lead, we have nothing but faith.

The distribution company just unveiled a teaser poster for the thriller, and it wonderfully sets the mood without giving anything away. What’s out there in the night? We can’t wait to find out.

Check out the art below.

In the film…

A man (Joel Edgerton) learns that the evil stalking his family home may be only a prelude to horrors that come from within.

Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, the tenuous domestic order he has established with his wife and son is put to the ultimate test with the arrival of a desperate young family seeking refuge.

Despite the best intentions of both families, paranoia and mistrust boil over as the horrors outside creep ever-closer, awakening something hidden and monstrous within him as he learns that the protection of his family comes at the cost of his soul.

Riley Keough, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher Abbot, and Kelvin Harrison Jr. also star.

Cat, really? Haven’t you seen a otter before?

        Nah that’s a bearded dragon.

Oh damn. The pedigree behind this movie has me REALLY curious. A24 has put out some of the best movies in recent memory (“Under The Skin,” “Ex Machina,” “The VVitch,” “Green Room,” etc.), Joel Edgerton proved he’s a formidable writer/director with “The Gift,” and Christopher Abbott is one of the best young actors around. This has A LOT of potential.

i agreee and don’t forget the great cast includes Carmen Ejogo (PURGE:ANARCHY)! i’m definitely looking forward to this film!

      • Matt Graupman

True, Carmen was very good in that. Plus, Riley Keough had a small part in “Mad Max: Fury Road” but she’s pretty talented, too.

Just tell us now if the dog dies. We have 6 months to mentally prep.

  • Satanzilla

This sounds great. It doesn’t happen often, but every once in a while someone makes a terrific horror film. Could this be it?
