Return of the Queen Teased on New ‘Alien: Covenant’ Poster?
We cannot stop looking at this poster.
This morning we awoke to the reveal of a brand new Alien: Covenant poster that totally blew our minds. The stunning H.R. Giger-inspired art showcases a beautifully horrifying mess of Xenomorphs and what look to be either Engineers or human victims, and we’ve spent a good deal of time looking at the art these past couple hours. And it seems we’re not alone on that.
I admittedly totally missed this but many eagle-eyed fans across social media have been pointing out that the poster teases the return of the Queen Alien, whose massive head crest certainly seems to be subtly present in the artwork. Could this be the first clue that the Queen, introduced in Aliens and last seen in the Alien vs. Predator films, will be making a comeback this year?
Ridley Scott previously revealed that his latest prequel will depict every life stage of the Xenomorph, so it stands to reason that the Queen will show up at some point. Alien: Covenant will dig into the true origin story of the Xenomorphs, and it’d certainly be a new wrinkle to find out how the Queens come to be; as far as I’m aware, there is no canonical explanation for their existence.
What do you make of this? Do we all have too much time on our hands?

Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice, Jobs, The Babysitters) stars with Michael Fassbender returning as Prometheus‘ android David (and Walter), with a crew that includes Demian Bichir and Danny McBride (“Eastbound and Down”), as well as Alex England (Gods of Egypt), Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz (A Horrible Way to Die, “The Killing”), Jussie Smollett (“Empire”), Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills). James Franco also has a role.
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition
Ridley Scott had previously promised to answer questions that left Prometheus viewers confused: “Covenant is really going to show you who did it and why.”
The Alien franchise returns on May 19, 2017.

‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ Adds “Chucky” Actor Teo Briones and More to Lead Cast
The Final Destination franchise is returning to life with Final Destination: Bloodlines. With filming now underway, THR reports that three actors have joined the lead cast, including “Chucky” actor Teo Briones.
Brec Bassinger (“Stargirl”) and Kaitlyn Santa Juana (The Friendship Game) join Teo Briones, who played Junior Wheeler in season two of “Chucky,” as the leads in the sixth installment of the horror franchise.
Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein (Freaks) are directing the fresh installment that also includes Richard Harmon (“The 100”, Grave Encounters 2), Anna Lore, Owen Patrick Joyner, Max Lloyd-Jones (The Book Of Boba Fett), Rya Kihlstedt (Obi Wan Kenobi), and Tinpo Lee (The Manor) among the cast.
Production is now underway in Vancouver.
What can we expect from the upcoming Final Destination 6? Speaking with Collider, franchise creator Jeffrey Reddick offered up an intriguing (and mysterious) tease last year.
“This film dives into the film in such a unique way that it attacks it from a different angle so you don’t feel like, ‘Oh, there’s an amazing setup and then there’s gonna be one wrinkle that can potentially save you all that you have to kind of make a moral choice about or do to solve it.’ There’s an expansion of the universe that – I’m being so careful,” Reddick teased.
Reddick continued, “It kind of unearths a whole deep layer to the story that kind of, yes, makes it really, really interesting.”
Final Destination: Bloodlines is written by Lori Evans Taylor (“Wicked Wicked Games”) and Guy Busick (Scream), with Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) producing.
Producers on the new movie for New Line Cinema also include Dianne McGunigle (Cop Car) as well as Final Destination producers Craig Perry and Sheila Hanahan Taylor.
This will be the sixth installment in the hit franchise, and the first in over ten years. Each film centers on “Death” hunting down young friends who survive a mass casualty event.
The latest entry is expected in 2025, coinciding with the original film’s 25th anniversary.
