Pennywise and the Losers’ Club Highlighted in New ‘IT’ Images

IT Pennywise Stephen King New Line

You won’t have to wait much longer to see the first footage from director Andy Muschietti’s first film in his two-part feature adaptation of Stephen King’s IT, as the trailer is set to drop this coming Wednesday. Of course, you’ll find it right here as soon as it does. In the meantime, we’re here today to whet your appetite for that trailer even more than it’s already whet!

The folks over on USA Today just scored three new images from IT. The first image (above) teases the new Pennywise behind a red balloon; the second introduces the new Losers’ Club; and the third shows the kids being attacked by Pennywise. Only his hand appears in the latter shot, but it’s enough to send chills up the spine. Check out the images below.

Muschietti also talked Pennywise in a little chat with the site:

Pennywise’s character is motivated by survival. In order to be alive in the imagination of children, he has to keep killing. It’s established that Pennywise takes the shape of your worst fear. He doesn’t have a steady behavior, he doesn’t expose how he thinks, and that’s what makes him really unpredictable.

In theaters September 8, 2017, the film is set “in a small town in Maine, where seven children known as The Losers’ Club come face to face with life problems, bullies, and a monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise.“

Bill Skarsgard stars as Pennywise, the sewer-dwelling monster.

Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Nicholas Hamilton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, and Jeremy Ray Taylor are the modern Losers’ Club.

Creature performer Javier Botet will play The Leper, and Owen Teague plays Patrick Hocksetter, a bully who torment the Losers’ Club.

Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg, and Barbara Muschietti produce.
