You Can Tour the Real Camp Crystal Lake This Friday the 13th!

10 Scariest Forests

As most diehard fans know, the original Friday the 13th was filmed at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, an active Boy Scouts camp in Hardwick, New Jersey. Unfortunately, the campgrounds are off limits to the public, meaning you can’t actually visit the filming locations outside of rare special events that the camp offers.

We’re excited to announce today that the fourth public tour of Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco for Friday the 13th fans will take place on Friday, October 13th, 2017!

The camp laid out the details in a press release we just received…

As with past tours, the number of tickets will be very limited. Every tour attendee needs a ticket – no exceptions. No tickets will be available at the gate on the day of the tour.

Tickets will be announced in two groups:

Group 1) To show our appreciation for our most dedicated fans, the first group of tickets will be announced via email to anyone that has made a minimum $50 souvenir purchase in our online shop between January 1st, 2017 and 7am the day the tickets go on sale. ($50 minimum not including shipping).

Group 2) After that, the remainder of the tickets will be announced to our general mailing list. You can join the mailing list here. Please note that tour announcements will only be made on the mailing list and will not be posted anywhere else.

Tickets will go on sale during the week of August 28th, 2017. They will be for sale immediately after the announcement email is sent.

Can’t you at least use a picture from the original movie?

  • Darkknight2149

Just watch out for this guy. He’s known to hang around there.

  • pablitonizer

They finally realised they can make tons of money with this type of tours! Too bad I live far from NJ

    • Unfortunately the requirements for the tour are ridiculous. It’s normally limited to 30 people and the tickets are almost $300 each. They went from not acknowledging the film to price gouging. They were selling drugs of crystal lake water for almost $100 same for sand.

Voodoo, pretty much everything you just posted is 100% wrong. Why don’t you do a little research.

        • I have that was prior to the sale what they are normally and have been for a number of years. It has been mismanaged for a number of years and has been pretty well known for that. Hopefully they change it for the better

          • Roooo56

I’ve been to the tour. One of the best experiences of my life, worth every penny and more. Everyone else had a great time. I’ve spoken with the organizers. They’re all unpaid volunteers that do this for the fans. I’m really surprised they bother with this after reading uninformed incorrect comments like yours.

Can you tell me approx. price you paid for tickets? Would love to take my husband for his birthday which is that day and he is a huge Jason fan. Thanks

          • melanie conover

tickets were 120$ each. it sold out in seconds again.

    I literally live 5 minutes from here…

  • Aaron Johnson

They also filmed an episode of the under-rated MTV paranormal show called “Fear” here. They called it “Camp Spirit Lake” and then mixed a bunch of local urban legends together and made it like it all took place there.

  • Snuck in here for free. Didn’t have to buy any souvenirs, tickets or get on a waiting list. Not exactly the easiest task though.

    • Hugh Manatey

Jason will get you for that.

    • diapers

Pics now, or it didn’t happen!

      • You can check out my movie location blog, its all on there.

        • Jason Misunas

I would have insisted on going in the water, even if that meant getting caught.

        • diapers

This made my day! Props to you for putting it out there!

          • Thanks, had to do something with all of them!

  • AdamX

This would be awesome, except for the brutal decapitation part but on the bright side at least he lets you keep your soul unlike our local slasher icon here in Ohio.

  • Juicyfruit

I don’t got why it’s not an all year round, or at least 6 month open attraction. Would make more $$$ and allow more people to see the place

    • Edgar Maddog Lama Alvarez

because it is an “active” boy scout camp, usually scouts are in camp season 8 months out of the year and the rest of time is repair and preparation for the next camp season.

      • Juicyfruit

Lame excuse. They would make more money turning it into a tourist spot.

        • Edgar Maddog Lama Alvarez

yes, they would indeed make a lot of money, but since it is owned by the boy scouts and it is a not for profit organization, they are not allowed to turn their camps into tourist attractions without changing that part of the legal papers and that would mean a whole lot of problems for them with all the other camps they run specifically for scouting purposes, they do have many other camp sites that close down for scouting once the scout season is over and open for the public at a fee which is used to help maintain certain aspects of each camp, like electricity or running water. clean washroom facilities or swimming pools.

  • Flu-Like Symptoms

Dealbreaker for me is them not allowing cosplay. Going through the hassle of getting a ticket and planning a trip out there…. I want to at least be able to get a memorable shot next to the lake in my expensive costume. Their site says something to the effect of “can’t have people in hockey masks running around acting like maniacs during the tour” or some shit. Shame that calmly standing next to the lake for a photo-op not bothering anyone can’t ride.

  • lupe

This sounds it should be the plot to a new F13 sequel lol Camp Crystal Lake offers tour with strict rules on Friday the 13th, a group of younglings decide to sneak in and voila Jason is awaiting their arrival… They get “Angry Mother Dock Shavings” for free 😛

  • diapers

All I can say is, someone better take a shitload of pics and let us see ’em.

  • killer63

    • melanie conover
