[TV] ‘My Girl’ Grows Up For “Hannibal” Drama

NBC’s “Hannibal” is getting more fresh meat. “Veep”‘s Anna Chlumsky recently booked a guest-starring gig on the mid-season drama, TVLine reports. Chlumsky will play Miriam Lass, a young FBI trainee under the tutelage of Laurence Fishburne’s Jack Crawford.

The upcoming drama, a contemporary take on the characters from Thomas Harris’ “Red Dragon” novel, is written and executive-produced by Bryan Fuller (“Pushing Daisies”). It focuses on the fledgling relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen).

Chlumsky, best known for the My Girl films, has appeared on TV shows including “Army Wives,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Covert Affairs.” She remains a regular on HBO’s political comedy “Veep.”

Blood Car (V)

A kindergarten teacher invents a car that runs on human blood to combat high gas prices in BLOOD CAR, a horror/comedy from first time director Alex Orr. In the first feature film from Fake Wood Wallpaper Films, narrative conventions and predictable, by-the-book plotlines are left behind in favor of an absurdist look at a future in which no one drives due to $40-a-gallon gasoline prices. Both a satire on our voracious habit for oil as well as a cleverly structured horror film, BLOOD CAR will make you cringe and laugh at the same time.
