Avril Lavigne Covers Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me”: Surprisingly, It’s Not That Bad

So, I’ll fully admit that I had a bit of a crush on Avril Lavigne for a while there. She’s pretty damn cute, she can play the guitar, and she’s got a feisty attitude that is rather appealing. Then she got engaged to Nickelback‘s Chad Kroeger. Every bit of attraction I had went right out the window.

But moving past my own personal demons, Lavigne has released a cover of the song “How You Remind Me”. It was recorded for the upcoming anime film One Piece Film Z, which is the twelfth film in an ongoing manga, TV series, and feature length film series. That series is the highest grossing anime in history.

Now, one would expect the song to be pretty awful (I know I thought that when I first heard about this). However, after listening to it, it’s actually not that bad. It’s an original take on the song, dropping the bro-rock feel and replacing it with a subtle piano and minimalistic guitars and drums. Check it out below and lend your thoughts. READ MORE
