‘Human Centipede’ Legal Battle Holds Up Production

Human Centipede Legal Battle Holds Up Production

We received a statement this morning from The Human Centipede producer Ilona Six explaining that production has been delayed on The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) as they prepare to do legal battle with franchise star Dieter Laser (pictured left).

Tom Six’s company will sue Dieter Laser,” she tells Bloody.

Because of the success of The Human Centipede, it seems that Mr Dieter Laser’s ego has grown to laughably big proportions. First signing the contract and rating the THC3 script as fantastic, and then demanding his own unacceptable script changes, and now refusing to play the part only seven weeks prior to shooting.

Six Entertainment Company will start legal action against Dieter Laser. Tom Six says not to worry – principal photography will be postponed and will take place later this year.

Principal photography was to begin this May in the States, with Laser and Laurence R. Harvey both returning in starring roles. Laser played the evil German surgeon “Dr. Heiter” in First Sequence, while Harvey played the creepy “Martin” – a man obsessed with Six’s first film – in the sequel Full Sequence. Franchise director Tom Six will play an unknown supporting role in what they’re calling “100% politically incorrect.” Six recently revealed that he’s working on a 500-person centipede. YIKES!

*Editor’s Note: The opinions and statements of Ilona Six are not those of Bloody Disgusting. Not to mention that we don’t know if this is a brilliant publicity stunt or not. We’ll play it safe… READ MORE

Master Gregory (Jeff Bridges) is a knight who had imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore) centuries ago. But now she has escaped and is seeking vengeance. Summoning her followers of every incarnation, Mother Malkin is preparing to unleash her terrible wrath on an unsuspecting world. Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory.

In a deadly reunion, Gregory comes face to face with the evil he always feared would someday return. Now he has only until the next full moon to do what usually takes years: train his new apprentice, Tom Ward (Ben Barnes), to fight a dark magic unlike any other. Man’s only hope lies in the seventh son of a seventh son.

British actor Hugh Dancy (Martha Marcy May Marlene, Black Hawk Down) is set as one of the two leads in “Hannibal,” NBC’s 13-episode series from Gaumont International Television, written and executive produced by Bryan Fuller and executive produced by Martha DeLaurentiis, reports Deadline.

The project is described as a contemporary thriller series featuring the classic characters from Thomas Harris’ novel “Red Dragon” – FBI agent Will Graham (Dancy) and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter – who are re-introduced at the beginning of their budding relationship.

The role of Will Graham was played by Ed Norton in the 2002 movie adaptation, in which Anthony Hopkins reprised his Oscar-winning role as twisted series killer Hannibal Lecter.

[BD Review] ‘The Hunger Games’ Is Pretty D*mn Good!

[BD Review] The Hunger Games Is Pretty D*mn Good!

Lionsgate’s Gary Ross-directed adaptation of The Hunger Games hits theaters on March 23rd and the film is poised to be a massive hit. However, unlike many out of the box hits based on popular source material – this movie is actually pretty good! I’m actually kind of excited that there’s going to be a movie that makes hundreds of millions of dollars that actually has some respect for its audience.

Ultimately ‘The Hunger Games’ is almost a minor miracle. What could have been a quick and easy cash-in on an existing property is instead a carefully considered, thrilling and touching piece of populist entertainment. It’s sort of an exciting prospect that, for the first time in a long time, we’re going to have a pop culture “moment” centered around a film that actually made the effort to tell its story well (even though it’s a shame that this is now the exception to the rule).

In theaters March 23 from director Gary Ross, the film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Dayo Okeniyi, Amandla Stenberg, Chris Mark, Jacqueline Emerson, Wes Bentley, Lenny Kravitz, Toby Jones, and Stanley Tucci.

Hopkins plays “Alexander Drew,” one of the Authority’s chancellors who was turned to darkness at the age of 9-years-old. TV: [Spoilers] Find Out Who Plays Michonne In ‘Walking Dead’ Season 3!

michonete011712 TV: [Spoilers] Find Out Who Plays Michonne In Walking Dead Season 3!

Spoiler Warning

A month after casting David Morrissey as iconic Big Bad The Governor, AMC’s “The Walking Dead” has brought in “Treme”‘s Danai Gurira (pictured below) as the badass Michonne, the legendary heroine from the Robert Kirkman comic series on which the zombie drama is based, reports THR.

While I have yet to watch the finale, the hooded, sword-wielding badass made her onscreen debut in the final moments of Sunday’s season two finale, saving Andrea (Laurie Holden) from an almost certain death when she arrived — with a pair of armless and jawless walkers chained behind her — to put down an approaching zombie.

Based on the character in the long-running comic series by Kirkman, the hooded Michonne arrives much the same way she did in the AMC series: Saving Otis from a group of walkers and joining Rick and company in the safety of the prison, which was featured in the final scene of the season Sunday.

The third season begins this coming October with much anticipation as the creative crew behind the series is quite aware of the pacing issues. In fact, things have been on the up and up IMO. What say you? READ MORE

TV: Another Trio Check Into American Horror Story Institute!

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy announced tonight at PaleyFest that Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe will join Zachary Quinto and Jessica Lange to play completely new characters in the sophomore season of the FX horror anthology series.

Says THR, Season 2 will shift from the creepy Los Angeles haunted mansion to an East Coast “horror institution,” with SAG and Golden Globe award winner Jessica Lange (who co-starred as the all-knowing nosy next door neighbor Constance) and Zachary Quinto (who recurred as a ghost trapped in the house) previously confirmed to return.

Peters co-starred as a mass-murderer-turned-ghost stuck in the house Tate Langdon, while Paulson had a more limited run as medium Billie Dean — who in the penultimate “Birth” episode explained to Violet (Farmiga) that the house had a paramagnetic grip — like a battery, with negative energy that feeds on trauma and draws things to it. Rabe played Nora Montgomery, one of the original owners of the house at the center of the series.

Season 2 of FX’s “American Horror Story,” which will likely return in October, will revolve around Lange’s new character, with Quito cast as a series regular. READ MORE

Both ‘Human Centipede’ Surgeons Return For ‘Final Sequence’!

Both Human Centipede Surgeons Return For Final Sequence!

While most people crucified the filmmaker, I was a pretty huge fan of Tom Six’s The Human Centipede 2 (read the review), a film that had the balls to say “f*ck you” to every hater out there (even though I still think directors need to stop reading all of the negative comments and feeling the need to respond to the hate). I think the most exciting part of the sequel was the “out-of-the-box thinking”, where Six takes viewers outside of the initial film and then into what he deems the “real world.” This leads us to the Final Sequence

While Six has kept plot details under wraps, Bloody Disgusting has confirmed that both Dieter Laser (pictured above left) and Laurence R. Harvey will return in The Human Centipede Part 3 (Final Sequence), both in starring roles. Laser played the evil German surgeon “Dr. Heiter” in First Sequence, while Harvey played the creepy “Martin” – a man obsessed with Six’s first film – in the sequel Full Sequence.

The real head-scratcher that’s got my interest piqued is that writer-director Tom Six himself will play a supporting role in the film! I think we’re about to go super-meta!

Principal photography will begin this May in the States. The film will be released in 2013, presumably by IFC. It is also confirmed that Final Sequence will actually be the last film of the Human Centipede trilogy.

The American finale will be 100% politically incorrect.

The Human Centipede Part 2 (Full Sequence) is now available uncut on DVD. READ MORE

Scarlett Johansson As Janet Leigh & James D’Arcy As Anthony Perkins In ‘Making of Psycho’!

Scarlett Johansson As Janet Leigh & James DArcy As Anthony Perkins In Making of Psycho!

Fox Searchlight’s Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho just became one of my most anticipated films of 2013.

Variety reports that Director Sacha Gervasi has tapped the stunning Scarlett Johansson and James D’Arcy to play Psycho stars Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins, respectively!

As previously reported, Anthony Hopkins will play the iconic director, while Helen Mirren will play his wife, Alma.

Gervasi’s pic follows Hitchcock and his struggles during the filmmaking of the horror classic.

John McLaughlin penned the script. Ivan Reitman, Joe Medjuck and Tom Pollack will produce through their Montecito Picture Company along with Tom Thayer.

Sources tell the mag that Making of Psycho has drawn comparisons to My Week With Marilyn, and that the role of Janet Leigh could lead to the same awards consideration for Johansson that the Marilyn Monroe role did for Michelle Williams.

Though D’Arcy’s role is smaller compared to his co-stars, it’s still considered a major part given how important Perkins is to the Psycho legacy. READ MORE
