[OMFG] Goblin To Perform Their ‘Suspiria’ Score In Austin!!!

I have friends I can crash with and I have airline miles I can use, so you just might see me at this. Are you a Suspiria fan in Texas? Then you’re in luck! Housecore Horror Film Festival, “the ultimate 3-day, underground fan event celebrating the twisted line where horror films and heavy metal meet”, just came out swinging. Today, festival creators – Pantera frontman Philip H. Anselmo and best-selling true crime author Corey Mitchell – announce that influential Italian progressive rock band Goblin will be performing their iconic score to Dario Argento’s 1977 horror masterpiece, Suspiria, live at the fest.

Marking their first-ever performance in North America, Goblin’s horror rock maestros Maurizio Guarini and Claudio Simonetti will fulfill fans’ dreams and nightmares as they perform their notably eerie soundtrack for Suspiria live during a screening of the classic and revered horror masterpiece.

Hit up Housecore Horror’s official site and get tix for the 3 day fest here! Hurry up, because the promoters are (oddly) raising prices soon. Maybe there are more surprises in store? READ MORE

Phil Anselmo Lands Book Deal For Autobiography

Pantera and Down singer Phil Anselmo and true crime best-seller Corey Mitchell have teamed up to bring you Anselmo’s autobiography, tentatively titled Mouth For War: Pantera, Pain, & Pride – Heavy Metal Highs, Drugged Out Lows, & The Battle For My Life. Agent Jeff Herman had been shopping the book around and the proposal was picked up by Jeremie Ruby-Strauss at Gallery/Simon & Schuster. The book is tentatively scheduled for a 2014 release.

The description states that the book is, “a no-holds barred look inside of Philip’s brain, his history with Pantera, the loss of his best-friend, Dimebag Darrell, and an unflinching examination into the downward spiral of pain and drug addiction that nearly cost him his life.

Author Mitchell was given carte blanche to interview anyone and everyone he deemed necessary to get the full story.

I, for one, am definitely excited to check out this book! Who else is interested in reading about Phil and his story? READ MORE
