Fresh Posters: The Woman in Black and Underworld: Awakening IMAX

To go along with the new domestic poster, Empire premiered the above UK quad for The Woman in Black, which opens February 3 from CBS Films. Directed by James Watkins, “The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.

In addition, inside you’ll find the IMAX one-sheet for Underworld: Awakening 3D that displays Kate Beckinsale’s head and piercing blue eyes. In theaters January 20, “Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.READ MORE

'The Woman in Black' Controls The Dead Children

Updated with hi-res version!

I haven’t been a huge fan of any of the one-sheets for The Woman Black, which is why I’m extremely bummed that we don’t have a hi-res version of the latest official poster. The newest piece of art displays the haunting tagline “She’ll never let go…” with the title character watching over a group of ghostly children. It’s an homage to the classic cover of the novel!

First Woman in Black Images NOT Displaying Daniel Radcliffe!

I’m insanely excited for February 3 when CBS Films releases Hammer’s latest production, The Woman in Black, their ghostly horror tale starring Harry Potter‘s Daniel Radcliffe.

While the trailer is hauntingly eye-catching, all images released thus far aren’t all too exciting. Still, I enjoy relishing in the thought that maybe they are keeping their cards close to their chest — I would love to be surprised.

A few new stills have been released internationally, and although they lack anything revealing, one image depicts three young girls dressed in historical garb. A clue?

Another Woman in Black Trailer Strikes Fresh Chills Down Your Spine

I’m not a big fan of James Watkins’ Eden Lake mainly because it’s mean-spirited, but what that does show you is that he’s willing to take it all the way. If the trailers are any indication, we’re in for a treat when CBS Films releases The Woman in Black in theaters February 3. A second full trailer was just released and once again will strike chills down your spine.

Another Look at Radcliffe in The Woman in Black

CBS Films has released yet another atmospheric still featuring Harry Potter‘s Daniel Radcliffe from The Woman in Black, which comes from Eden Lake director James Watkins. It’s not much, but I applaud CBS for keeping any big reveals under their cap. I like to be surprised!

The Woman in Black Viral Website Uses Motion Capture...

CBS Films has launched a pretty lame Halloween viral for The Woman in Black that uses motion capture technology as part of the experience. It’s very “one note”.

WhatDidTheySee.com invites users to take a look inside Eel Marsh House and discover the answer to “What did they see?” Visitors have only a partially obscured view, just enough to see through the doorway and into this young girl’s room. By using motion recognition with the computer’s webcam, visitors to the site can shift their perspective within the room by simply moving right & left in front of their own computer to see what lurks behind the door and in the shadows. No matter how scared you get (and you totally won’t), expect to receive your own customized photo, compliments of The Woman in Black.

More Awesome Spooks In UK The Woman in Black Trailer!

While CBS already posted one of the best trailers of the year, UK distributor Alliance has unloaded their own trailer for The Woman in Black featuring Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.

First Official Stills For 'The Woman In Black'

It was just over a month ago that we saw the Hammer logo blaze across the big screen for the first time in years during Let Me In‘s credits, and, if the quality of Matt Reeves’ film was any indication of how great the resurrected studio’s output will be, we luckily will only have to wait until next year see it again in front of The Woman In Black. James Watkins’ follow-up to Eden Lake, starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Ciarán Hinds (There Will Be Blood), and Janet McTeer (Tideland), was originally planned to shoot in 3D, but is thankfully now just 2D. The film follows a young lawyer (Radcliffe) who travels to a remote village to close out an estate, only to find the locals living in fear over a ghost with evil intentions. It was originally a novel written by Susan Hill in 1983, and was later adapted for television by ITV in 1989. Today, Hammer released the first official stills from the film, currently shooting in England, which might or might not be the most boring promo photos I’ve seen. Sure, it looks like the film captures the gothic nature of the story well, but, as The Wolfman reminded us earlier this year, looks aren’t everything. Here’s hoping the combined power of Watkins and Hammer can churn out something far better than Joe Johnston and never-ending re-shoots.
