Dark Souls II (6)

Do You Like Super Dramatic Trailers? So Do We. ‘Dark Souls II’. Check It Out.

The Souls series has what you would call, quite the reputation. No, it isn’t a game that sells Call Of Duty numbers, or blows us out of the water with earth shattering graphics and game play. (No, I’m not saying either of those are bad) The series is known for being brutal, and relentless. In the killing of you throughout the campaign. You can almost look at playing the games like a personal challenge. See how far you can get before you huck your controller through a window or punch a baby. I usually hit the baby first. If you head past the break you can check out the dramatic Global Gamers Day trailer and some screenshots. Dark Souls II is out next year on the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

An announcement that surprised me even more than the reveal of The Phantom Pain was the reveal of Dark Souls II. My love for this series is no secret, and given how unforgiving it is, I’m surprised the original ever managed a sequel, but a threequel? If ever there was proof the gaming gods exist, this is it. The trailer that premiered at the Spike VGAs earlier tonight is gorgeous, all CG (so no gameplay, unfortunately), and it features numerous dragons and what looks like Shy Guys. I’ll update this post with a trailer as soon as it hits the interwebs.
