Imagine Jaws under the ice, imagine terror at 20 degrees below freezing… In a remote winter hideaway devoid of any sign of life, two unsuspecting families on an ice-fishing vacation discover something sinister lurking in the frozen lake. One thing is for certain – the creature is hungry and the only prey left is human. Hypothermia is a classic monster movie in the tradition of The Creature from the Black Lagoon.

The story takes place in Maine in the dead of winter. Ray Pelletier and his wife Helen have been ice fishing the frozen expanse of Lake Noyade for over two decades but this year something is different: no fish bite. Is it their new neighbors on the ice — Stevie Jr. and his overbearing Dad — with their high-tech gear and over-sized rig that is driving the fish away? Or is it something else? The answer comes in an onslaught of ferocious attacks that unites the two families against a mysterious creature from under the ice.

A family returns to their favorite winter getaway for some peaceful ice fishing little suspecting that they are about to become bait for a hideous underwater creature in Dark Sky Films’s Hypothermia, freezing up home video on October 2.

Bloody Disgusting was provided with an exclusive first ever clip that takes Michael Rooker for an ice cold swim in terror!

“Ray Pelletier (Michael Rooker; “The Walking Dead,” Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Slither) is looking forward to a quiet weekend of ice fishing with his family at the same peaceful lake they’ve been visiting for years. Unfortunately for the Pelletiers, the obnoxious big-city father-son duo of Steve and Stevie Cote has picked the same weekend to spend at the remote frozen spot.

The fishermen quickly notice that the fish below the thick ice aren’t biting, and Ray thinks the Cotes’ state-of-the-art gear, including a loud ice drill, has scared them all away. But the two families’ petty squabbles are soon eclipsed by a much greater enemy: Something unnatural and ferocious is under the ice and its prey is human. Miles from civilization and with only a few inches separating them from the freezing water below, the Pelletiers and the Cotes must find a way to work together to fight the vicious creature that’s out to hunt them.” READ MORE
