At the end of 2011 it might be fair to say that there isn’t any other publisher who will have done more to put themselves ahead of the game and take themselves to the next level than Dark Horse Comics. The publisher has made great strides these past few months, and we are now only halfway through the year. With a rejuvenated relationship with superstar Joss Whedon (“BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER”, “ANGEL”), the return of “CRIMINAL MACABRE” and “THE GOON”, and a new movie deal for Evan Dorkin’s “BEASTS OF BURDEN”, things couldn’t be much better for the company. There is more than one reason why we here at Graphic Content are excited for June 29th besides the fact that Eric Powell’s “THE GOON” will be returning to a bi-monthly schedule with Dark Horse Comics. That is the main reason, but the other is because the series’ 34th issue will also be one of the few outlets that rips on “TWILIGHT” more than we do. OMFG Of The Day: Eric Powell’s ‘The Goon’ Officially Returns This August!

It has been a long time coming, but in one of the most exciting announcements to hit the genre all Spring, Dark Horse Comics has revealed that “THE GOON” will be coming back to life this August with issue #35! Even more exciting is the fact that the ish will be written by “MILK AND CHEESE” creator Evan Dorkin! No news on whether or not Powell will be returning to writing the series full time beyond that point, but for fans of the series who have been anxiously awaiting more than a one-shot here or there every few months, this is the best news they have gotten in a very long time.
