Red Band ‘Fright Night’ Clip Turns Up The Heat

A new clip for Craig Gillespie’s Fright Night remake hit the web today, featuring Colin Farrell’s Jerry lighting a literal fire under Charlie’s ass. The film definitely strikes its own identity with some clever bits like this and never comes off as an 80′s film with modern conventions (something that too many remakes do). Fright Night hits theatres this Friday.

Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right–but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

New ‘Fright Night’ TV Spot Shows Some Teeth

Wow, there’s Twilight jokes in the new TV spot for Craig Gillespie’s Fright Night remake. If the film is filled with cheap shots and obvious humor like that, then that R-rating everyone is championing as a sign of faith is going to be for naught. Check past the break for new spot, which also features some pyrotechnic wizardry and vampire fx.

Anton Yelchin stars as Charlie Brewster, a high school senior who’s on top of the world — that is until Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door and Charlie discovers that he is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. The remake drops on August 19 in (sigh) 3D.
