Sh*t Gets Real In Bloody New The Divide Imagery

From Frontier(s) director Xavier Gens comes the new post-apocalyptic thriller, The Divide (review), which blasts into theaters January 13 from Anchor Bay Films. Though a few images have already been released, the Bay has shared with us four pretty eye-catching stills that should definitely pique your interest.

In this graphic and violent, post-apocalyptic thriller starring Michael Biehn, Milo Ventimiglia, Rosanna Arquette, Courtney B. Vance and Lauren German, “nine strangers—all tenants of a New York high rise apartment—escape a nuclear attack by hiding out in the building’s bunker-like basement. Trapped for days underground with no hope for rescue, and only unspeakable horrors awaiting them on the other side of the bunker door, the group begins to descend into madness, each turning on one another with physical and psycho-sexual torment. As supplies dwindle, and tensions flare, and they grow increasingly unhinged by their close quarters and hopelessness, each act against one another becomes more depraved than the next. While everyone in the bunker allows themselves to be overcome by desperation and lose their humanity, one survivor holds onto a thin chance for escape even with no promise of salvation on the outside.READ MORE

‘The Divide’ Comic Book Becomes New York Comic-Con Experiment

The Divide Comic Book Becomes New York Comic Con Experiment

Now that I finally went broke and bought myself an iPad, reading comic books is once again the priority in my life (seriously, it’s amazing).

Making it’s debut at this weekend’s New York Comic-Con is Mondo artist James Flames’ comic book prequel to The Divide, Xavier Gens’ apocalyptic tale exploding into theaters January 13 from Anchor Bay. The film will be screening at NYCC this weekend and in honor of the event said comic will be available exclusively at Anchor Bay’s Comic Con booth, #430.

Inside you’ll find an exclusive look at pages 12 and 13 from the comic, which are actually kind of a spoiler for those of you looking forward to the film. Personally, having seen it, I’m DYING to know the origin behind these “specimens”. The cover art is also included.

Michael Biehn Takes Over ‘Victim’ Directing Duties, Drops Out of ‘ChromeSkull’

Two odd pieces of news came together on the same day starting with a prediction (more like an observation) made by Chris Eggertsen after his visit to the set of The Victim. A press release confirms that star Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Grindhouse) has taken over directing duties on the film that also stars Ryan Honey (“ER,” Hallowed Ground), Jennifer Blanc (“Dark Angel,” “Party of Five”), Denny Kirkwood (Never Been Kissed, Groove), and Danielle Harris (Hatchet 2, Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Stake Land). The new endeavor had a small domino effect as Biehn was forced to drop out of Rob Hall’s slasher sequel ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2. He’ll be replaced by Owain Yeoman. Filming is currently underway on both indie productions.

‘Malevolence: Bereavement’ Gets New Trailer And Release Date

The new trailer is mostly rearranged scenes from previously released ones, but has the distinction of having ‘In Theaters February 2011′ after the credits. ‘Bereavement’, a prequel to the first film, is the horrific account of 6-year-old Martin Bristol, abducted from his backyard swing and forced to witness the brutal crimes of Graham Sutter, a deranged madman.

Grindhouse

Grindhouse – noun – A downtown movie theater – in disrepair since its glory days as a movie palace of the ’30s and ’40s – known for “grinding out” non-stop double-bill programs of B-movies. From groundbreaking directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez comes the ultimate film experience: a double-bill of thrillers that will recall both filmmakers’ favorite exploitation films. “Grindhouse” will be presented as one full-length feature comprised of two individual films helmed separately by each director. Tarantino’s film, “Death Proof,” is a rip-roaring slasher flick where the killer pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife, while Rodriguez’s film explores an alien world eerily familiar to ours in “Planet Terror.” Welcome to the Grindhouse – it’ll tear you in two.

“Death Proof” stars Kurt Russell, Zoe Bell, Rosario Dawson, Vanessa Ferlito, Jordan Ladd, Rose McGowan, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Marley Shelton, Tracie Thoms, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Michael Bacall, Eli Roth, Omar Doom; “Planet Terror” stars Freddy Rodriguez, Rose McGowan, Josh Brolin, Naveen Andrews, Marley Shelton, Michael Biehn, Stacy Ferguson, Jeff Fahey, Michael Parks
