Alan Moore’s flare for the weird is at the forefront in the 30 minute-short, and it’s definitely worth a watch. Over the weekend, Alan Moore (“Watchmen”, “V For Vendetta, “From Hell”) and Mitch Jenkins‘ new film, Jimmy’s End, was released online, for free. The film is part of a larger series that the duo are working on, titled The Show, involving the same characters and setting.
Jimmy’s End offers up a fanciful, disturbing, and oddly alluring 1950s neo-noir world. Not surprisingly, it strongly evokes a similar feeling to David Lynch’s more contemporary work with its unsettling dream-like quality and uncomfortable sexual tension.
