[OMFG] Boy Fights Nightmare After Nightmare

Movies like The Goonies and Monster Squad will always have a special place in my heart. They show children rising up and facing their fears head on, determined to make it through their journey and emerge, grown and hardened, out the other side. That’s why I really resonated with the new music video, Boogie Man, from Grieves. It shows a boy arming himself with bubble wrap armor, a pot helmet, and a toy boy and arrow. He then proceeds to face some admittedly creepy nightmarish creatures. The music actually really works super well for this video and I’m not normally a guy who is into much hip hop.

All that being said, I highly recommend you check out the video after the jump and remember the days of your youth when you were ready to face anything.

OMFG Of The Day: The ‘Witch Doctor’ Is In And Ready For Some ‘Resuscitation’ This December!

Back before Brandon Seifert and Lukas Ketner’s “WITCH DOCTOR” began we made the prediction that the series would quickly become a classic among genre fans, and if the sell-out numbers for the series’ first story-arc are any indication of just how much potential the series has, then we feel pretty damned secure in that assumption. So it comes as no surprise that Skybound has announced an all new one-shot featuring the “unique” cast and crew entitled, “RESUSCITATION”. Below you can get your first look at the cover art and all the details…

OMFG Of The Day: The Witch Doctor Is In And Ready For Some Resuscitation This December!

WRITTEN BY: Brandon Seifert
ILLUSTRATIONS BY: Lukas Ketner

“Offering a great jumping on point for new readers, Witch Doctor: The Resuscitation will ask important questions of its readers. For instance, if you wake up in a bathtub of ice with a surgical incision on your side, but the hospital says you’ve still got two kidneys, where do you go for a second opinion? To the expert, Dr. Vincent Morrow, Witch Doctor, of course!”

[OMFG] Phil Anselmo Does Pantera Covers With Members Of Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, And More

At the Best Buy Theater in New York City last night, the second annual Metal Masters Clinic took place. Featuring members of Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and even ex-Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy, the free event was a blast for fans. However, the big surprise came towards the end of the evening when Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down) took the stage and everyone rocked out a couple of classic Pantera tunes. After the jump, you can see everyone busting out A New Level and Fucking Hostile. To put it simply, these videos kick insane amounts of ass. READ MORE

OMFG Of The Day: Guillermo Del Toro And David Lapham’s ‘The Strain’ To Debut At $1!

Fans of Guillermo Del Toro are spoiled. Don’t take that the wrong way, but the director/writer/producer extraordinaire is one of the busiest and most talented names in the horror/sci-fi industry right now, and things are about to get a little bit more hectic as the first images from the upcoming comic book adaptation to his hit trilogy of novels, “THE STRAIN”, hit the net. The series will debut this December (Merry Christmas kids), and if you scroll on down you can check out the initial cover art for the book that will be retailing for just $1 (I rest my case)!…

[OMFG] Original Mash-Up Of Linkin Park And Katy Perry

So, 99.9999% of the time I post mash-ups, they’re some awesome metal rendition of a pop song. Instead, what we have here today (courtesy of BurnTheBlueSky), is a beautiful mixture of Linkin Park‘s Waiting For The End and Katy Perry‘s ET. Featuring two guys on a piano and three back-up singers (their appearance is rather amusing), the mix of the two songs is surprisingly effective and really something special.

Check it out after the jump!

[OMFG] Girl Covers Gorillaz ‘Feel Good Inc.’, All Of It, In One Take

I’m always intrigued when some random person, sitting in their home, decides to do a cover song. Normally, this usually ends with bleeding ears and/or much laughter AT and not WITH. Sometimes, however, a true gem appears. Such is the case with Josie Charlwood‘s (YouTube) cover of Gorillaz Feel Good Inc. Apart from being a great cover, she decides to replicate nearly every instrument in the song…in one take. Using a Boss RC-30 looper (I’ve been wanting one for years now) and a bedroom FULL of studio equipment (where did she get the money for all this???), Josie looped and recorded part after part to get as close to the full experience as you can get. What’s even more impressive is the skill she shows in manipulating multiple pieces of gear at a moment’s notice.

Check out the video after the jump and if you are so inclined, you can buy the track off of Josie’s Bandcamp. It costs .30 GBP which is about $0.49 USD.

OMFG Of The Day: Metal Bands Explain Where Babies Come From

I could’ve sworn I did an ‘OMFG Of The Day’ to this last year. But after doing some digging, it looks like I was an idiot when this was released and passed it over. Well not again! This gem of a video popped up on Today’s Big Thing and I plan on sharing it’s joy with you all!

After the jump you can watch a video of a little kid interviewing members of Arsis, Revocation, Misery Index, Fear Factory, and Carnifex by asking the question that most parents dread: “Where do babies come from?” If you ever wanted to feel a little uncomfortable, just wait for Burton C. Bell’s explanation. I’m 27 and it still made me feel awkward. But informed. I am now aware of where babies come from.

OMFG Of The Day: Joss Whedon’s Ninth ‘Season’ Of ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Begins!

The Eighth ‘season’ of Joss Whedon’s “BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER” was for all intents and purposes, BETTER than the final season of the cult classic TV series, which saw its run on The CW come to an end after 7 years with the network. Some would call the series “Another Generation’s Twilight”, but I have Colt .45 for that, and a proper distaste for its fans. Figuratively, of course. But I digress. The point is that the “AVENGERS” director himself will be getting back to his roots with Dark Horse Comics, and inside we have your first look at the title’s first issue. Read on for the skinny…

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a good mashup for you. Well, I found this one yesterday but I saved it for today so that you could enter the weekend head banging. After the jump you’ll find YouTube user TheNoctural666‘s amazing djent mashup of the infamous Tay Zonday song Chocolate Rain. To say that this song pumped me up is not enough. I heard it and I wanted to jump into a mosh pit. Yes, I would’ve gotten my ass handed to me but it’s the thought that counts, right?

OMFG Of The Day: This Is What Zombies Do When They Wake Up In The Morgue

Usually in a horror film, when a body awakens in a morgue, there is some unlucky soul who just happens to be there as a tasty snack. But what happens when zombies wake up and only have each other for company? Well, the answer, my dear readers, awaits you after the jump!

Too impatient to click the ‘Read More’ button? Okay, I’ll clue you in: it’s a lighthearted song about death arranged by Matt & Kim and featuring Andrew W.K. and Soulja Boy. Full of amusing gore and zombies having a good time, this video kinda makes me want to join the ranks of the undead!

OMFG Of The Day: Dubstep Can Melt Your Face Off. Literally.

Well, today brings another dubstep OMFG article. This time, a trio of armed gunmen take on your every day generic bad guys using the power of dubstep as their ammo. Sound ridiculous? OMFG Of The Day: Creepy Pedophiles Don’t Like This Little Girl

I’ve made it pretty clear by now that I’m a huge fan of Skrillex, right? Okay, just making sure. Well, one of my favorite tracks on the More Monsters And Sprites EP is the song First of the Year (Equinox). The first time I heard it, the “Call 9-1-1 now!” scream made me jump a few inches. After that, I was treated to the sound of what can only be described as Transformers hardcore banging it out. So awesome. I mean, c’mon, who doesn’t get excited at the thought of Optimus Prime and Elita One engaging in copious amounts of oil-leaking fornication? Anybody? Any takers?

Whoa, went on a tangent there. Coming back to the point, Skrillex has released a video for First of the Year (Equinox) that features a creepy pedophile stalking a little girl into an abandoned warehouse. What happens afterwards? Well, let’s just say that he might’ve wished he’d gone the other way. Check out the video after the jump and enjoy!

Well, I could say that stranger things have happened, but for some reason, the sight of Tool‘s Adam Jones playing the Star Spangled Banner at the WWE SummerSlam just boggles my mind completely. Jaleel White, best known as Urkel on Family Matters, is the main character and busts out some awesome dance moves and is basically the type of man I wish I would’ve grown up to be.

OMFG Of The Day: Screw You Keyboard Cat, I’ve Got Metal Drummer Dog

I can appreciate a funny cat video as much as the next person, but sometimes I get sick of seeing those feline bastards. Honestly, I’m more of a lizard person, but I’ll take a dog being badass any day of the week just to combat the cat pandemic that is sweeping the Internet.

Well, today brings me one of those videos. Turns out there is a dog that, with a little bit of assistance, can rock the drums to the August Burns Red track The Eleventh Hour. I especially love the part where the dog starts baring his teeth as though he knows he needs to look badass. If I had a dog, I would put it on drum lessons 30 seconds after I started the video. Time for the damn mutt to earn it’s keep!

OMFG Of The Day: Majestic’s Bizzare And Sadistic ‘Humpty Dumpty’ To Get Comic Treatment!

Clocking in as one of the movies that I have one of the most savage of impulses to see is Billy Majestic’s upcoming, “HUMPTY DUMPTY”. The film is as bizarre as it is surreal, and if you ever wondered what would have happened if little E.T would have ever crash-landed into the arms of people akin to Krug and his gang, then you will lust no more. That being said, it is a pleasant surprise to hear that the film will ALSO be getting a comic adaptation with Majestic at the helm, which will hit shelves this October.
