Today marks the release of UK progressive metal band TesseracT‘s sophomore full length Altered State. In my review, I labelled the album as “flawless” and described the band as “…one of the most creative, daring, and innovative bands of today.” Now you can listen and judge for yourself by picking up the album here.
The band has also released their video for “Singularity”, which was directed by Horsie In The Hedge and features the practical FX team behind such films as Skyfall and Prometheus. We premiered several screenshots from the video, which you can see here. Head on below for this disturbing video, which features elements of Splice, Species, and even a little bit of Evil Dead and Starship Troopers. READ MORE
Bloody-Disgusting is thrilled to bring you an exclusive first look at the upcoming TesseracT music video for “Of Energy – Singularity” with eight amazing photos. The photos show a woman in red lingerie (possibly NSFW?) as well as close ups of some strange, alien creature. There’s also a nice homage to A Nightmare On Elm St. with a strange tentacle joining the woman in the bath.
“Video production began on “Singularity” a few days ago. Produced by Horsie In The Hedge/Pari Passu Films and featuring the Emmy Award-winning director of photography Mark Wolf, as well as the practical effects team that worked on Skyfall and Prometheus, the video is sure to be as cinematically stunning as the music itself.”
“Of Energy – Singularity” comes from TesseracT’s upcoming album Altered State (review). Head on below to see the images. READ MORE
UK prog metal band TesseracT have released a radio edit of a new single entitled “Singularity”. The song comes from the band’s upcoming album Altered State, which comes out May 28th in N. America. The song perfectly encompasses the various musical approaches the band takes, from mellow, ethereal beauty to vicious, biting heaviness. You can listen to the single below.
Make sure to keep an eye out for my review of the album, coming very soon! READ MORE
Singularity starts off by tossing you into the broken remnants of a once glorious scientific community secluded from the rest of the world with dystopian ideas and crazy technology that eventually led to said community’s demise. Oh, and there’s also mutated enemies that were once human, a scattering of audio logs that give you pieces of the events leading up the game, campy tutorial videos, you have a glove that gives you special abilities like telekinesis and shockwave style melee attacks, and E-99 that you have to search for because it upgrades said abilities.
