Newsted Releases Video For “Soldierhead”

Ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted has released an official video for “Soldierhead” from his new band Newsted. The song comes from their latest EP Metal (iTunes). The video was directed by Leon Melas in an abandoned factory in California.

In an interview with Sonic Excess, Newsted spoke about the video, stating, “It’s just a simple thing, and I just wanted to capture the band. There is no heavy concept, no literal thing about bullets chasing your head or any of those things. It’s old school metal and most likely will be black and white. It was shot in an old factory. It was a gnarly, dusty, old factory and it had energy. That is what I will describe it as.” READ MORE

Ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted has released a stream of “Soldierhead”, the first single from his new band Newsted. The song comes from his upcoming EP Metal, which comes out on Jan. 8th, 2013 (pre-order on iTunes here). It’s a pretty badass song, mixing elements of Motorhead and Testament into some good old fashioned thrash metal. Very fun stuff. Check it out below. READ MORE
