Remember when Universal Home Entertainment was remaking The Wolfman for a second time? Well, it’s not a remake anymore, in fact, it’s turned into an incredibly cheesy looking direct-to-disc werewolf flick. The boys over at Collider were the first to land the official press release for Werewolf: The Beast Among Us, along with the first trailer, cover art and stills. We’ve shared it all here.

After being held in a coma-like state for fifteen years, vampire Selene (Kate Beckinsale) learns that she has a fourteen-year-old vampire/Lycan hybrid daughter, Nissa, and when she finds her they must stop BioCom from creating super Lycans that will kill them all.

Official: Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.

Meet the ‘Werewolf’ Hunters for Next ‘Wolfman’ Flick

Steven Bauer (Scarface, Raising Cain) revealed in an interview with Moviehole that he will star alongside both Stephen Rea (Interview with the Vampire, V for Vendetta) and Ed Quinn (“Eureka”) in Universal Home Entertainment’s untitled Werewolf, a potential reboot of The Wolfman being directed by Louis Morneau.

The new film, penned by Michael Tabb, will take place in a 1901 Romania with the lead character, “Daniel,” caring for his sick mother and attending medical school. Daniel is then recruited to join a group of nomad bounty-hunters tracking down “a disturbing presence” terrorizing the town. Daniel and “Charles” quickly bond and must work together to uncover who this new breed of werwolf is. From what I’m being told, this sequel is very “whodunit”.
