Magnet Dates Sci-Fi Horror ‘Storage 24′ For Home Video

On DVD and Blu-ray March 12 from Magnet Releasing is Johannes Roberts’s sci-fi horror Storage 24.

In the film, “London is in chaos. A military cargo plane has crashed leaving its highly classified contents strewn across the city. [News Bites] ‘Kilometer 31′ Sequel, Japanese Posters For ‘Cabin in the Woods’ and ‘Storge 24′

Twitch is reporting that Mexican director Rigoberto Castaneda is developing a sequel to his 2006 horror Kilometer 31. No details are present at this time. In KM 31, “After the tragic death of their mother when they were children, twin sisters Agata and Catalina Hameran developed a special skill, a way of communicating without speaking, a “link” between them. After a mysterious accident on Kilometer 31, Agata falls into a coma. Catalina, thanks to their “link”, feels the pain and tragedy that her sister is going through at the time of the accident. Following a series of supernatural events, Catalina realizes that their “link” is stronger than ever and that her sister Agata is screaming for help from her unconscious state. Catalina is now determined to find out what really happened to her sister in order to help her wake up. Nuño, Agata’s long time friend, and Omar, Catalina’s boyfriend, agree to help her. But they soon find out that not only is Agata in a coma, but she is also trapped between reality and an ancient legend, the legend of La Llorona.

[AFM '12] Michael Biehn Fights An ‘Eternal’ Vamp, Magnet Opens ‘Storage 24′, ‘The Dead 2′ Teaser Rises

On the dawn of AFM Raven Banner has acquired Justin McConnell‘s The Eternal (pictured). The Toronto-based company landed worldwide rights on the vampire tale to star Michael Biehn (The Divide, The Terminator, Aliens). Raven Banner to produce with Unstable Ground Inc. “Biehn will star in the story of a 500-year vampire who wants to die and sets out to find a worthy adversary in combat.” The cast includes Adam Kenneth Wilson, who co-wrote the screenplay with McConnell and the late Kevin Hutchinson. Production is set for 2013.

Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, has acquired North American distrib rights to U.K. horror Storage 24, says Variety. Storage 24 will be released through the distrib’s Ultra VOD program, debuting on all video-on-demand platforms December 6 to be followed by a theatrical release in early January. The Ford Brothers, the team behind zombie thriller The Dead, have revealed that the sequel, The Dead 2, will be shot in India. Howard J. Ford unveiled a teaser trailer shot on a recent location recce and announced that the film, for which the screenplay is now completed, is anticipated to start production in February/March 2013. Said Jon Ford: “We want part 2 to do something few sequels can rarely achieve by surpassing the first film in every way!,” which shouldn’t be hard. “We want to give the fans unique and stunning locations, more intense story and action, while maintaining the emotional heart that runs through the whole film. Good news out of Cannes for fans of Johannes Roberts horror film, Storage 24, because it’s been sold in a number of territories.

Per Variety, “London-based international sales agent Independent has closed multiple deals on helmer Johannes Roberts’ ‘Storage 24.’ It sold to Klockworx in Japan, Focus & Co. in South Korea, IPA in Thailand and Vietnam, Lark Films in Hong Kong, Bier Film in Turkey and WEG in India… The film pre-sold before Cannes to Universal for the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, German-speaking Europe, Scandinavia and Benelux.

Storage 24 stars Noel Clarke (“Doctor Who”) and Laura Haddock (The Inbetweeners) and is written by by Clarke, Davie Fairbanks and Marc Small. The film “is set in London after a military cargo plane has crashed, leaving its highly classified contents strewn across the city.
