Rob Zombie will hopefully be premiering the trailer for The Lords of Salem or making an announcement regarding its release any day now (or any month now). But in the meantime, for those starving for anything Salem, there’s some fly-on-the-wall video from the film’s set that hints that Maria Conchita Alonso’s character might be some kind of (dark and weird) painter.

While we wait for writer-director Rob Zombie to make some sort of announcement regarding The Lords of Salem (we’re hoping for a film festival this coming fall), we’ve now added four colorful new looks at the horror flick that takes us to a quartet of filming locations, while also sharing a new look at Margaret Morgan.

This guy just premiered at the Rob Zombie/Megadeth show last night at the PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey, the trailer for The Lords of Salem! If I’m not mistaken this is the first non-sequel, non-remake Rob Zombie movie in 7 years!

“The story is about a local DJ who mistakenly unleashes a hellish curse on the town. 300 years earlier on the very streets of Salem that the townspeople walk on today, innocent folks were rounded up from their homes, convicted of being witches and sentenced to death. The Lords of Salem ran the town with an iron fist, but four witches who were tortured and killed in secrecy vowed that one day they would be back for revenge.” Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Dern, Sheri Moon Zombie, Dee Wallace, Billy Drago, Richard Lynch, Lisa Marie, Maria Conchita Alonso, Ken Foree, Bruce Davidson, Christopher Knight, Michael Berryman and Sid Haig all star.

The quality right now is, of course, VERY shaky. Zombie’s podium is blocking the screen for the first bit (I thought podiums were Manson’s thing), but once the camera pans to the side you can see a some decent footage. We’ve all been wondering what the hell is going on with Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem, his latest genre offering that will bring the witches a salem back for a slaughter.

The rocker turned shock-rocker has provided a hefty update via Twitter that leads me to believe Salem could be hitting the festival scene this summer/fall.

“I am done editing THE LORDS OF SALEM! Now onto the next phase,” says Zombie, looking forward to the sound mix and color correction. After a series of additional photography, it’s good news that he’s officially past recutting the film.

Hoping to regain your interest, he also shared the following: “Here is another behind the scenes look at some rather disgusting chunky bits from THE LORDS OF SALEM. Wayne Toth sure has made a nasty looking whatever-you-want-to-call-it. Enjoy.” It’s nasty alright; inside you’ll find a look at Satan’s lower half, including his covered up weanis. READ MORE

Rob Zombie loves his cameos, even in the editing bay. The director of The Lords of Salem has posted two behind-the-scenes photos from the post-production of his witch horror flick that displays a few new looks at the film in the background.

“John 5 stopped by THE LORDS OF SALEM editing room today to discuss the amazing music he is scoring for the film,” said Zombie who also showed a look at editor Glenn Garland having a scream working on a scene from the flick produced by Jason Blum (Insidious, Paranormal Activity).

Sid is best known for cult classics like Spiderbaby, Coffy, Black Mama, White Mama, CC and Company and The Big Dollhouse. He also starred in Zombie’s House of 1,000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects and Halloween.

Berryman plays “Virgil Magnus”, 50% of a well-known witch hunting duo called The Brothers. Berryman has been shocking audiences for over 35 years in films like One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Deadly Blessing and even Weird Science.

Rob Zombie has posted a behind-the-scenes image from the workshop of Wayne Toth who created the effects and goodies for The Lords of Salem, which is now in post-production. From what I can make out, these look like musical instruments, which goes with the plot of conjuring “witches” at a club. Maybe the DJ uses these instruments in their performance?

Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem is officially wrapped and in post-production, with editing and scoring underway. “Editing is moving along great and John 5 is writing some crazy, spooky music,” reports Zombie.

In addition, Zombie has released yet another image from the flick featuring “Maria Conchita Alonso doing a little Cheech and Chong number in a bathtub from the film.” Conchita, who plays “Alice Matthias” in the film, has starred in such classics as Predator 2 and The Running Man.

With the Los Angeles leg of the shoot nearing an end, Rob Zombie revealed yet another name added to the laundry list of ex-celebs starring in The Lords of Salem.

“Michael Shamus WIles has joined the cast as “Jarrett Perkins” owner of Engine House Pizza. When in Salem don’t forget to visit Engine House for all your pizza and calzone needs. Yes, it is a real place,” Zombie jokes.

Shamus has been appeared in a wide variety of films including Fight Club, Transformers, Magnolia and Lost Highway. Most recently Michael was a regular on the hit TV show “Breaking Bad”. READ MORE

With shooting already wrapped in Salem, Massachusetts, you’d think writer-director Rob Zombie would have his full cast locked in for The Lords of Salem. Nope. The shock rocker-turned-filmmaker reveals that child star Brandon Cruz has joined the massive cast as “Ted Delta”, a local Salem drug counselor. Shooting continues in Los Angeles.

Brandon was a staple of 70′s TV appearing in such shows as “The Incredible Hulk”, “Police Story”, “Kung Fu”, “Gunsmoke” and of course as Eddie alongside Bill Bixby on the hit show “The Courtship of Eddie’s Father”. Add to that a starring turn in the 1976 smash film The Bad News Bears. During is absence from acting Brandon has focused on music, heading the punk band Dr. Know during the 80′s and more recently replacing Jello Biafra in the legendary band The Dead Kennedys.

Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem shoot is winding down as they’ve just wrapped production in Salem Massachusetts and are picking up tomorrow in Los Angeles.

“And so it ends. Today is the last day of filming on THE LORDS OF SALEM. Thank you to all in Salem that helped to make this film possible. See you at the movies,” said Zombie before clarifying, “We are not done yet, just done in Salem. Tomorrow we head back to LA to continue working on the film.”

Rob Zombie posted a few new pictures from the set of The Lords of Salem this afternoon – and I’m not entirely sure what to make of them.

One features a Kiss-esque dude holding a sword over a pentagram. That’s pretty much Rob Zombie’s aesthetic in a nutshell. The other just has a goat. I imagine some kind of ritual will befall this little fella.

The Lords Of Salem stars Bruce Davison, Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Dern, Sheri Moon Zombie, Dee Wallace, Billy Drago, Richard Lynch, Lisa Marie, Maria Conchita Alonso, Ken Foree Christopher Knight, and Patricia Quinn.

“The story is about a local DJ who mistakenly unleashes a hellish curse on the town. 300 years earlier on the very streets of Salem that the townspeople walk on today, innocent folks were rounded up from their homes, convicted of being witches and sentenced to death. The Lords of Salem ran the town with an iron fist, but four witches who were tortured and killed in secrecy vowed that one day they would be back for revenge.”

PatSalem The Lords Of Salem Has Patricia Quinn In Its Palm!

The casting just doesn’t stop on The Lords Of Salem.

Today Rob Zombie took to his Facebook to announce the casting of Patricia Quinn as Megan, the town’s palm reader.

Quinn joins Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Dern, Sheri Moon Zombie, Dee Wallace, Billy Drago, Richard Lynch, Lisa Marie, Maria Conchita Alonso, Ken Foree and Christopher Knight in the cast.
