[Video] ‘The Final Chapter’ Map and Jason Coming to ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’!

Gun Media has been promising that a new playable Jason Voorhees and a new map would soon be arriving for Friday the 13th: The Game, and they’re making good on that promise with a teaser they just dropped today.

According to the short teaser video, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter‘s version of Jason will soon be added (with unique kills), as will a Part 4 map!

It’s also interesting to note that this particular map looks to feature a rain element, which many players have been begging for. The rain FX can be added to ALL maps.

Check out the new content teaser below, while we wait for more info!

The game hits Playstation 4 and Xbox One on Friday, October 13.

Wow, they went with the lamest Jason to go with for the first real update. Good job guys.

    • Chuck Fitzpatrick

Lamest Jason. Dude this guy was bad ass. He cleared Crispin Glover right in the face.

      • Rohan

He looks the same as part 3 Jason. No effort required except for maybe a different head.

        • Tan Shearer

The whole point was for him to look the same. He’s the SAME CHARACTER. They established Jason’s unique look in Part 3 and every film afterwards emulates that. Each one has slight differences though making each one stand out. But they all use Part 3 as the blueprint.

          • Rohan

All the other Jason’s have unique characteristics with varying degrees of damage and rot, making each installment’s Jason unique. What will they give this Jason to stand out, a corkscrew?

          • Tan Shearer

All Jason’s have unique characteristics. What is your obsession with “standing out”? It needs to look like Part 4 Jason that is all.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

the ones saying part 3/4 are the same clearly haven’t seen the movies

        • Tor from Yucca Flats
          • Rohan

You’re right, he had beige pants and fingernails. Large difference.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

the whole hunch back and lumpy skin under the shirt too to the point where he had a no-neck and leaned forward from the deformed back

          • Rohan

So he’s a little hunched over and his skin is a little bumpy. There is no big difference my guy, even neca used the same body for both figures.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

Well their bodies certainly didn’t look alike in the movies. I suggest you watch both movies again, just skip to their scenes. ‘a little bumpy’ the entire body of Richard’s Jason was badly deformed, it was never little. So I guess you think CJ Graham basically looks like them both too? and John Hock (graveyard nightmare sequence in the beginning of 5) also looks like them?

          • Rohan

CJ Graham had a distinct outfit with gloves and overall zombie like decay. John Hock looked the same as 3 and 4, at least on the intro, because that’s what he was supposed to look like. Roy Burns on the other hand had a distinct look as well, with a blue jumpsuit and a mask that included a completely bald, almost perfect head, with the iconic blue arrowed mask. I would take Roy Burns over part four any day. Part 4 should just be a skin for part 3.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

so if they put ted in a red shite he’d be different in your eyes?

          • Rohan

No, he’d be the same. My whole point was that a recolor on a Jason should be a skin, not its own character.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

Thats’ bull! you’re saying Ted and richard are the same only because of their shirts, yet now you say if ted had a red shirt it wouldnt be different. They are completely different. go put on the films again. their presence on screen is completely different. they don’t look alike at all. other than the clothes. the body and head shape don’t match at all.

          • Rohan

The only thing that is different is the head shape and different color pants. It’s not like Part 4 is all of a sudden gonna have a different presence because he’s from part 4, it’s gonna be Kane Hodder playing them all, so it’s gonna be the same either way

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

the body is completely different, not only is it a different actor but part 3’s body is heavily deformed.

          • Rohan

But it is the SAME ACTOR IN THE GAME MY GUY! Kane Hodders build will be the same throughout all Jason’s. Look at part 2 Jason, he’s way bigger in the game because Hodder is playing him, so it won’t make any difference.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

no Richard’s jason model was changed to look like him rather than kane. so was cj’s. ted’s body will be thinner.

          • Rohan

I wasn’t saying body TYPE, I was saying movement. Of course they will make them skinnier like in the movies, but as you said, each actor gives different ‘mannerisms’ and that’s what I was talkin got about. Kane has got one mannerism, hulking badass, and that’s going to be spread across all the Jason’s. That means they will all be similar in movement, or mannerisms if you will, making your point of crossing over how each Jason behaves mute.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

I am sure Ted will have some of his traits not just kanes bulk.

          • Rohan

I guess we will see if they can carry it over, but I highly doubt it judging from the other Jason’s ingame.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

Richard has a different body shape so did CJ in the game.

          • Rohan

That’s what I said. I said they can make them look different body shape wise, but the mannerisms will be the same.

    • Lamest Jason? Ted White was awesome and The Final Chapter is one of the best F13 films (alongside Jason Lives).

      • Rohan

Lamest looking Jason. He’s the same as part 3.

        • Maybe in terms of physical appearance. He has different stats and unique kills.

          • Rohan

That’s what I mean. Physical appearance is boring and the same. It might as well be a skin for part 3.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

Which scene does Richard Brooker have long finger nails? Which scene does Ted White have a crooked, lumpy back? Thanks!

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

at least you know they are different in acting. Trish swings a machete @ Jason and he just stands there. He backs off when Chris swings a small knife at him. They are completely different.

          • John Connor

That’s character progression. Jason just gets more badass with a not give a fuck attitude after nearly dying so ny times.

    • Travis_Bickle

You haven’t been playing huh? First real update? They have had several major patches since the game was released. They just added the redesigned, small maps which are very different from the original three. This map is a blessing to the real players.

    • Kristoffer Groves

At least it’s not Part 1 Jason.

      • The Drucifer

I want to smack around boy Jason so bad…

      • Tor from Yucca Flats

it is part 1 jason… Ted White’s makeup is Ari Lehman’s makeup aged..

    • Tan Shearer

Part 4 is considered one of the best Jasons. Definitely one of the nastiest in terms of kills.

      • J Jett

Tan agreed. part 4’s Jason and Derek Mears’s Jasons are the best IMO.

      • Rohan

Good kills, but with no difference in his look. The only thing different is his face. I would much rather have UberJason, but that’s just me I guess.

        • dukeblues

You would prefer Uber Jason over part 4? Wow….. Why not throw predator in there instead? Part 4 is probably the best Jason period

          • Rohan

Wh.. what the fuck are you talking about? Predator?

    • Tor from Yucca Flats

So what isn’t lame? the only ones left are VS, 2009 and X. You are saying IV is lame compared to those? Do you know something, Tom Savini did the original Jason makeup, he turned down 3 but came back for 4. This is how HIS Ari Lehman makeup looks if it was aged into an adult So it is the TRUE face. How is that lame?

  • David.

I hope the rain element is implimented well such as dirty footsteps in cabins. It could be helpful to counsellor and Jason alike.

  • His physical appearance is so similar to Part III that I honestly didn’t think they would include Final Chapter Jason.

    • The Drucifer

I was thinking the same thing until I saw the eyes.

      • I wasn’t referring to the trailer. I just didn’t think they would add him in general.

        • The Drucifer

He was in the vote on kickstarter

    • Tan Shearer

Part III and Final Chapter Jason’s are very easy to tell apart.

      • Only because of a bloody axe mark.

        http://i.imgur.com/1Sz1XrD.jpg

        • Tan Shearer

I disagree, they look very different. Especially how well the Part 3 mask fits and shapes face, it actually looks like a face.

          • I agree that it’s easier to tell them apart when he’s not wearing the hockey mask. But when the mask is on, I think they look similar. Just my opinion.

          • Tan Shearer

Well in that case every hockey mask Jason looks the same.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

even the makeup looks completely different. Stop lying to yourself.

          • What part of “My opinion” did you not understand (especially when I’m not the only person who thinks this)? You must be great with the ladies. Now, “stop lying to yourself”.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

ladies has nothing to do with geeking out about a 1980’s movie so i dont even know why you bring it up, this isn’t BodyBuidling forums, not trying to impress woman with my knowledge of these movies. Point is they look completely different. Richard’s neck was all fat and misshapen with padding on his back and in the arms and chest to look deformed inside, Ted had a regular body and stood tall. body shape, head shape everything is different only the green shirt is similar

          • J Jett

Jason from part 3 seemed more muscular/stacked IMO. Jason from part 4 was thinner. but i agree Tan that they look noticeably different even with the masks on.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

they padded out his shirt with white padding, it can be seen in many shots, especially when Chris falls on him and knocks him over. Ted’s had no white padding under. Also the top button on Ted’s is done up, not on Richard’s. Richard’s make up was complex and went into his neck and back and he looked all lumpy under his shirt, and had undefined ears. Ted’s was just Ari Lehman from 1980 aged many years, with wrinkeled skin from blood pooling up inside.

          • J Jett

Tor that’s interesting about the padding. i didn’t know they did that!

        • Tor from Yucca Flats

looks different in every way, just because he is wearing a green shirt (which isn’t even the same color nor brand) it is even buttoned differently. Not to mention his erect spine posture in 4, and not the 3rd one with the arched back and deformed body where it is making him look all bulky.

    • Motion Fiction Media

I agree. I’ve always thought they looked the same, and figured that’s why 4 wasn’t a playable character.

    • Tor from Yucca Flats

Bull, they both carried their bodies differently, they both acted and looked differently. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/61ef17cdb9b293525479ffbce0d6a51ea737cfaf6824eadcc74ba808749c1ac0.png

      • Still looks incredibly similar, buddy (one being leaner or not). Your image just shows my point.

        • Tor from Yucca Flats

you can’t see that Ted had a huge hydrocephalus head, a straight spine and straight neck and big ass ears while Richard has non existent ears, a big fat misshapen hunchback neck and a curved posture and a smaller head? they are completely different. I bet you think John Hock (graveyard dream sequence in 5) looks like them too. I bet you think CJ looks like them too if they cleaned up his shirt and lost his belt .

          • “I bet you think John Hock (graveyard dream sequence in 5) looks like them too. I bet you think CJ looks like them too if they cleaned up his shirt and lost his belt .”

            Goodbye, sir.

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

so you do think those 2 actors look like him?

          • Tor from Yucca Flats

the toys do a good job showing people like you their postures. No way did Ted have that hunch back and curved spinehttps://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/40ec4a4ac9af0f02f17ab5714c203405ddf5603a185eec109b6b68a1e5abe06d.png of capturing their

is Mike Ehrmantraut from Breaking Bad playing Jason in this content update?

    • Kristoffer Groves

      XD

    • gjk2012 .

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I bet he would make a great Jason in a Friday the 13th movie sequel.

  • Robby

That’s nice, but when is the single player mode gonna be available? It gets pretty repetitive otherwise.

    • J Jett

i want to know this as well. single player only for me.

      • Necro

Friday October 13th and that’s if they don’t pull no bullshit and push the release date back.

      • fannypack aficionado

I only play when my buddies can fill a room. I refuse to play publicly anymore and have snot-nosed twerps team with Jason to rat the other counselors out.

    • Necro

Friday October 13th and that’s if they don’t pull no bullshit and push the release date back.

    • Trav

I really agree and hope it comes out soon. Not only for it to be less repetitive, but as someone who struggles as Jason, I would like to play offline so I could practice finding the bot counselors.

  • J Jett

that’s pretty cool! i love how it’s the same house as the one from the film (part 4).

  • Scooter Rivard

know what would be crazypants? jason vs jason.

  • Chris

I liked this Jason the most because it was the first plausible adult version of the kid in the first film. His head is shaped the same and the face had a lot of detail. They should have kept Savini for the entire series.

  • dukeblues

Jason 3 and 4 are far and away the best Jasons. Kane Hodder can’t hold a candle to parts 3 and 4. Zombie Jason isn’t scary. Real life guy who is pissed off and looking to kill…. that is actually scary. Same reason Freddy was never scary. To fake.

    • Matheus Martins

Meh. If its alive and can be hurt then that means i can kill it, which makes it less scary in the process. I always thought the ghost face movies were stupid, cause i could beat the crap out of those edgy teenagers.

I only scared of what i cant fight.

Also, Jason wasn’t ”human” from the start, he has been displaying super strength and retarded endurance since part 2, he was just killable before part 6. Living Jason is more like a mad mutant then anything else.

      • dukeblues

I see what your argument is. But to me, a “real life” killer is scarier simply because it could actually happen. Could you beat the crap out of a real life guy? Of course. But since there are no zombies, what is there to be afraid of?

    • J Jett

dukeblues, i agree w/ you 100%. for me it’s Jason’s from part 3, part 4 and the 2009 film (Derek Mears). i like Kane Hodder (he seems like THE nicest guy!) but i hate zombie Jason. not scary or intense or anything. and i too never found Freddy scary or interesting, etc.

      • BreeBennett

        Derek is my number 1.

  • Niek Hendriks

I disagree, they look very different. Especially how well the Part 3 mask fits and shapes face, it actually looks like a face.

  • martijn

His physical appearance is so similar to Part III that I honestly didn’t think they would include Final Chapter Jason.

  • michael morris

I disagree, they look very different. Especially how well the Part 3 mask fits and shapes face, it actually looks like a face.

  • Great news, but I still want a map during the daylight.

  • John Connor

I was kicked off the internet by the MPAA, so it would be nice if I could buy a physical copy of this game and play single player only without any need to connect to the internet .

  • Josh Blitzenbrox Myers

Still no single player news though…

    • chuck

Its a multiplayer game at its heart man, dunno why you want to play with bots in a single player game mode

      • gjk2012 .

Reason being, in a few years the FT13th Game online will be dead with no one playing. The game will be useless and a waist of money. Its sad to see people depend on online play these days when they should know it wont last forever. One of the reasons why this game is online only is because of dickhead online players preferring online to single player story. This will be the biggest downfall to the video game industry. With games supporting exclusive only online content with micro transactions following the trend of shitty app games.

      • gjk2012 .

Reason being, The FT13th Game will be dead in a few years. The game that you paid for will be useless and a waist of money because people lost interest and moved on to newer games. That’s why we need single player. The biggest downfall to the video game industry will be people preferring online play over single player story with games already supporting exclusive only online content with BS micro transactions following the trend crappy phone apps. Gamers that prefer online play over single player story have to realize that this kind of crap doesn’t last forever.

      • Josh Blitzenbrox Myers

According to the devs single player is supposed to be much more than that. Something like playable scenarios and situations straight out of the different films. That I could get into

As far as the multiplayer? I hate to admit it because I backed this thing on Kickstarter and have been really excited about it since day one but…it’s really underwhelming. The gameplay is extremely basic, the animation is stiff, the characters are ugly, the load times are long, the game ends if the host quits, and it’s generally not that fun after a few rounds

I’m hoping single player will be more fun…if it ever arrives

      • KSE1977

Probably because that is the reason many folks helped Kickstarter it. Many of us don’t enjoy playing games online as many of the people online simply make the games no fun. Look at all the people out there who break the game or team kill just to be jerks. Nope, I would rather play against OI bots than most randos out there.

  • BreeBennett

Yes!!! This is the best mask in my opinion and then the remake.

  • Sky Ferreira

I love this game so much, but every time they tease/announce something only to offer little more insight than “coming soon,” I die a little inside. Sigh.
