‘V/H/S: Viral’ Clip Showers With a Demon!

V/H/S: Viral

V/H/S: Viral is NOW on VOD platforms (with a limited theatrical run slated for November 21st), and Magnet has released yet another clip, this time from Gregg Bishop’s magic act. Watch as a demon is conjured up in a shower! Also, check out a red band clip from earlier today!

The new tape features segments directed by Marcel Sarmiento (Deadgirl, the incredible The ABCs of Death segment “D Is for Dogfight”), Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes, Extraterrestrial), Gregg Bishop (The Other Side, Dance of the Dead), as well as Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Resolution, Spring).

“A police chase after a deranged ice cream truck has captivated the attention of the greater Los Angeles area. Dozens of fame—obsessed teens flock to the streets with their video cameras and camera phones, hell—bent on capturing the next viral video. But there is something far more sinister occurring in the streets of L.A. than a simple police chase. A resounding effect is created onto all those obsessed with capturing salacious footage for no other purpose than to amuse or titillate. Soon the discovery becomes that they themselves are the stars of the next video, one where they face their own death.”

Patrick Lawrie, Emmy Argo, Heather Hayes, Jessica Luza, John Curran, Justin Welborn, Mary Ralston, Michael Aaron Milligan, Gustavo Salmerón, Marian Álvarez, Xavi Daura, Esteban Navarro, Nick Blanco, Chase Newton, Shane Bradey and Jayden Robison star.

Marcel Sarmiento, TJ Cimfel, Dave White, Gregg Bishop, Nacho Vigalondo, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead wrote the screenplays.

Saw this last night. Nacho’s segment was amazing..He is probably the best in the world at telling time traveling stories. Other stories were entertaining, but not great like Nacho’s.

This movie was amazing. I really did enjoy it. It wasn’t as batshit insane as the 2nd but it was still really solid. I hope the next one will be too.

As much as I did not enjoy the movie for various reasons, the segment on the magician was the best for me. It reminded me of Chronicle – in that a normal person – gets amazing powers, and then starts out using them innocently but becomes corrupt and uses the powers for evil.

    Well done.

The movie wasn’t very good at all – but the fight with the cloak was very, very well thought out.

I was a really big fan of the first 2, I thought the first was the scariest, the second had the best story, but this one was just a disappointment to me. I was surprised to have enjoyed abc’s of death 2 more, hope v/h/s steps it back up with better stories for next time, if it happens

  • Saw this a couple of days ago, and thought it was a decent effort. I heard there was a fifth story cut out of the theatrical print (Gorgeous Vortex?) – was that completely lost to the cutting room floor or will it make an appearance somewhere?
    Or is this pure rumor?

They’re probably saving it for the DVD release.

This might be one of if not the single dumbest things I’ve ever seen. Can’t suspend your disbelief ont his.

I also liked the magician segment best. It’s pretty well done and not overly found-footage-like (meaning no shaky cam that makes your head spin after 20 seconds). Just imagine the cloak fight scene in found footage style O-O *throw up*. Actually I was expecting the last segment to be my favorite one bc I liked the setting a lot. But that whole skater thing in combination with the absolutely unlikable protagonists made it my least fave of the three :/ I hated those kids from the very beginning when one of them jumped from one roof to the other and his “friends” were like “please don’t make it, please don’t make it!” Bunch of a-holes!

i thought it was ok easily the worst of the bunch tho the crazy icecream truck bit that they kept going back to didnt go anywhere! i mean wtf was that? the parallel universe one was pretty shitty too but i did enjoy dante the great and the skateboard kids in tijauna but there was definitely nothing up to the quality of safe haven tho or even the mountain bike cam zombie bit from vhs 2

This movie was a lot of fun. Some of it wasn’t great certainly (i.e., the wrap-around story in particular was fairly pointless), but I enjoyed all three long segments, with Dante the Great being the best. The parallel universe story was solid (I liked the demonic witchcraft universe), and the skate punks vs. undying cult was a lot of fun; I was rooting for the cult in that fight, lol. I thought the film might have ended with the giant demon/entity raised by blood descending on the van in the wrap-around story, but it was not to be. The VHS series is good for the genre, and who doesn’t like horror anthologies? The first film was the best, then the second, with Viral being a close third, I think.
