“Stranger Things” Season 2 Clip Goes Trick or Treating and Finds Michael Myers!

“No one wants Three Musketeers. It’s just nougat.”

Remember that retro-inspired, 8-bit “Stranger Things” mobile game Netflix dropped earlier this week? Well, as it turns out, there was a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Reddit’s icecreamboy201 discovered that beating the game unlocks a clip from Season 2, wherein the boys (dressed as Ghostbusters) go trick or treating. We had previously seen images from that Halloween episode, but this is the first clip we’ve seen. In it, the gang gets a spook when they run into… Michael Myers!

Okay, so it’s just a girl wearing a Myers mask, but it’s pretty awesome nonetheless!

In the second season, arriving on October 27

“It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.”

The cast includes Paul Reiser, Brett Gelman, Linnea Berthelsen, Dacre Montgomery, Will Chase, Rob Morgan, and Sadie Sink. They join the returning Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton.

Cool! I put Michael in my Slasher Things trailer in the exact same scene. What are the odds?

  • Mr. Red Right Hand

    whatta bitch

  • I still don’t get why other shows or movies did stuff like this (callbacks to classic movies and TV shows). People love that shiz. That nostalgia effect.

But then half the time you see people saying adding XXXX callback or homage is tacky and forced. I don’t get it. I feel like the reason Stranger things is so popular is because it’s in your face with it’s era and meta references.

    • EvilHead1981

I think there is a right way to do nostalgia and a wrong way. Stranger Things does it right, because it feels natural within it’s world. It’s seamless, not unlike how people reacted to trends and pop culture DURING the 80s.

If you want a great example of how to do it WRONG, watch episodes from That 80s Show. When a movie or television show has to constantly wink at the camera while whispering, “See, because IT’S THE 80s!!!!!!”, that’s the absolutely wrong way to do nostalgia. It’s kinda like a character that comes on camera, dressed in leg warmers, a headband, has big hair, wears a “Frankie Says Relax” shirt, a neon Swatch, sunglasses at night and turns to another character and says, “Where’s the beef?” That shit is… BAD, and there are SOME 80s set modern shows and movies (That 80s Show not included, cause that one failed hard) that DO that kinda shit.

EvilHead1981, exactly! i agree 100%. yes, i liked the 80’s references/homages in season 1 of the show but it’s the storyline itself and the wonderful acting AND the atmosphere/spookiness that made me love the show so much. the perfect 80’s references/homages were just added bonuses.

  • Halloween_Vic

    I love this!!! Lol

  • The Night King

Black kid screamed like a little girl. Haven’t heard a black kid scream like that since Reggie in Friday the 13th part 5.

    • Meisha’s Taint

      You OK bro?

    • EvilHead1981

Reminds me of the main kid screaming in the Are You Afraid of the Dark? episode, “The Tale of the Manaha”.

    • J Jett

oh my god i totally forgot about Reggie and his awesome scream in part 5!! LOL. i love that movie and Reggie was girly scream great! 🙂

  • If Stranger Things can get the rights to feature the original Michael Myers mask, and Halloween 4 and 5 can use it on the poster, surely it is possible for the new Halloween (2018) to also use it in the film.

  • J Jett

and that Michael Myers mask in the clip is infinitely better than most of the masks used in parts 4-RESURRECTION. lol.

    • Flu-Like Symptoms

      Especially 4. Damn.

    • dukeblues

  • The response in the comments here, and on the BD Facebook page are so different. So glad this place isn’t entirely full of toxic negativity all the time

  • JackJonston24

Yawn more nostalgia pandering for this overrated piece of crap, tired of seeing it and hopefully the critics finally wake up to this one trick pony show and stop pretending it’s anything groundbreaking

    • creamofthecrop212

Everything you say here, but exact opposite.

      • JackJonston24
