Humorous Video Makes the ‘Deep Blue Sea’ Cast React to ‘Deep Blue Sea 2’ Trailer

As we recently learned, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is bringing Deep Blue Sea 2 to Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital on April 17, 2018, a sequel to the 1999 film that, well, looks more like a straight up remake. One of the great things about Deep Blue Sea is the cast; sadly, none of those actors will be returning for the “sequel.”
Speaking of the Deep Blue Sea cast, what do those characters think of the new film? This fun video edit from The Drew Reviews Podcast imagines them reacting to its trailer!
In Deep Blue Sea 2, directed by Darin Scott (Tales from the Hood)…
“A shark conservationist Dr. Misty Calhoun (Danielle Savre) is invited to consult on a new, top secret project run by pharmaceutical billionaire Carl Durant (Michael Beach). She believes the project, performed at a remote, sea-based facility, focuses on extracting shark antibodies to help work toward cures for human diseases.
However, Dr. Calhoun is shocked to learn that the company is using unpredictable bull sharks as its test subjects, and Durant has bio-engineered a shiver of highly intelligent, super-aggressive bull sharks. When science meddles with the time-tested process of nature and nurture, the outcome can be deadly.”
After pulling in $28 million at the worldwide box office this month, director (and star) Dev Patel’s critically acclaimed action-thriller Monkey Man is now available to watch at home.

Monkey Man is currently 88% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with Bloody Disgusting’s head critic Meagan Navarro awarding the film 4.5/5 stars in her review out of SXSW back in March.
Meagan raves, “While the violence onscreen is palpable and painful, it’s not just the exquisite fight choreography and thrilling action set pieces that set Monkey Man apart but also its political consciousness, unique narrative structure, and myth-making scale.”

Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, Monkey Man stars Patel as Kid, an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.
