“Urban Onslaught” DLC Announced for ‘Starship Troopers: Terran Command’ [Teaser]

Published

Fans of stomping Bugs in Slitherine Software and The Artistocrats’ strategy game Starship Troopers: Terran Command have more action on the way with the announcement of a second DLC in “Urban Onslaught”. On the heels of “Raising Hell” four months ago, “Urban Onslaught” is an eight-mission story campaign set for release this June that is focused on “tactically rich, open maps.”

The new DLC moves the action from desolate rocky planets to the city streets. The Arachnid onslaught has reduced cities to rubble and the homes of citizens are in great peril. Bug hordes are encroaching on the central districts and local police forces have been completely overwhelmed. The responsibility now falls on the shoulders of the player to lead the Mobile Infantry to victory and reclaim this beacon of human civilization.

As well as adding a new environment to wage war in, Urban Onslaught expands upon the Arachnid -squashing action in new ways. The DLC adds eight new unit types for the player, including mechanized missile launchers, hovering autocannons and airborne gunships, four new Arachnid unit types, and two new challenge missions.

Here’s the breakdown for Urban Onslaught:

  • A new planet, a new environment: Squash the Bugs in city streets, liberate a massive airport, clear internal buildings and venture through underground basements, sewers and metro lines.
  • 8 mission story campaign, focused on open maps that offer tactical freedom.
  • 2 new challenge missions.
  • 8 new player units, including mechanized missile launchers, hovering autocannons and airborne gunships.
  • 4 new Arachnid unit types.

Urban Onslaught can be wishlisted now on Steam.

Just in case you didn’t know, SFB Games’ throwback Survival Horror title Crow Country is out today on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series. And as is usually the norm, we have a new launch trailer to mark the occasion.

“It’s finally here! This project has been a real labour of love for us, so we’re beyond excited to finally let people enjoy all that Crow Country has to offer,” said Adam Vian, Creative Director at SFB Games. “Personally, I’m so curious to see how it goes… I want to know which puzzles you enjoyed, which moments scared you, what rank you get, which bonuses you unlock – I think I’ll be glued to YouTube and Twitch for a while…”

The abandoned Crow Country theme park is finally throwing open its rusty gates for intrepid explorers today, with horrifying secrets awaiting those brave enough to venture inside. In this new horror game inspired by classics from the PlayStation 1, the year is 1990 and you are Mara Forest, a young woman determined to understand why the mysterious Edward Crow closed his famed amusement park and how exactly he vanished.

Calling back to classic Survival Horror games of old, you’ll be managing limited resources to survive against the mysterious monsters that stalk the eerie tranquility of Crow Country, and overcome the many puzzles and challenges that stand between you and a disturbing mystery. You’ll hunt for clues, encounter curious characters, and immerse yourself in a handcrafted, richly atmospheric game-world evocative of late ’90s pre-rendered graphics.

And while you’re waiting for the game to download, check out Aaron’s review of Crow Country, which has a “compelling combination of graphic style and gameplay [that] makes for something that’s more unique than it lets on.”
