While Saber Interactive is currently basking in the glory that is Hellraiser: Revival, they haven’t forgotten about World War Z. The devs have revealed the new Viral State Update for World War Z, which will launch on November 12. The update includes new content and improvements, with a mix of free features and paid story content.
That starts with the new premium “Florida Episode” campaign DLC, featuring three new expansive maps and four new characters. The Viral State update will also include free weapons and Daily Challenge upgrades for all players, as well as the new premium Vacation Heat Character Skins Pack DLC.
Darkness envelopes the Sunshine State. Crowds of happy beachgoers and tourists have been replaced by swarms of ravenous Zekes, ready to devour your vacation! Choose between four new seasoned survivors – Val, Caesar, Moe and Chris – to defend the Alligator State from the hordes of infected monstrosities overwhelming its theme parks, bars and other hallowed locales, including popular vacation destinations like Miami and Key West!
The Viral State Update will include the following mix of free and premium content:
- Premium “Florida Episode” DLC: Launching at $9.99, the “Florida Episode” will feature a brand-new campaign story across three new Florida maps with four new fearless heroes.
- Free Arsenal Upgrades & Perks: Hit the Zekes with the Microgun, World War Z‘s newest heavy weapon, or the light melee Dual Kama weapon, each with their own perks and abilities.
- Free Daily Challenge Reworks: Enjoy a plethora of quality-of-life improvements for Daily Challenges, including a new timer, reworked UI and reroll system, updated challenge descriptions, and the ability to pin challenges for easier accessibility.
- Premium Vacation Heat Character Skins Pack DLC: Available for $4.99, this new set of four cosmetic skins for survivors Hiroiji Okada, Eloise Durand, Angel Flores, and Marine Leblanc is perfect for defending Florida with both style and comfort in the heat.
World War Z is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
