[Exclusive] Peek Inside the Pages of ‘Mary Shelley: Monster Hunter’ Issue #2, Coming This Month

For nearly two centuries, scholars have wondered how on earth Mary Shelley, a nineteen-year-old girl, was able to conjure one of the most frightening and enduring horror stories of all-time: Frankenstein. But with the recent discovery of Mary Shelley’s secret memoir, the truth is finally revealed: Mary Shelley didn’t just write Frankenstein, she lived it.

That’s the plot of Aftershock’s new comic series Mary Shelley: Monster Hunter, which just launched its first issue last month. Issue #2 will arrive on May 22, 2019!

In the 32-page second issue, written by Adam Glass & Olivia Cuartero-Briggs:

“Mary discovers not only that their mysterious host is a surgeon intent on reanimating the dead, but also that she’s a woman.”

“Banished from a career in medicine because of her sex, Dr. Victoria Frankenstein has decided to create a manservant devoted to her success in a misogynistic world. The only thing she needs is a partner. Mary quickly sees the potential to carry on her late mother’s feminist work, but agreeing would mean betraying her closest companions, and becoming an accomplice to murder.”

The issue features art by Hayden Sherman, and a cover by Hayden Sherman. Preview it below!
