Created by Aaron Mahnke, the non-fiction scary stories podcast Lore has been a massive success since it launched in 2015, spawning a series for Amazon Prime that has now aired two seasons. Up next, Lore is headed into the world of comic books with Wellington!
Announced by THR, the five-issue series comes courtesy of IDW Publishing, co-written by Mahnke and Delilah S. Dawson. Piotr Kowalski and Brad Simpson illustrate the series.
Wellington will introduce the new character of the Duke of Wellington, an investigator of exactly the kind of monsters and mysteries explored in the popular podcast series.
“History and folklore are deep wells, and they are honestly a fiction writer’s dream come true,” Mahnke said in a statement. “With an amazing cast of characters just waiting to be called upon, and centuries of belief in the supernatural setting the stage, I’m excited to share these powerful stories in a brand-new way!”
The mini-series is set to launch this coming December.
