It’s been a few weeks since I brought a band for you to check out and I feel like I need to do that again. So, without further ado, I’d like to introduce you to Spirits and the Melchizedek Children, a post rock band from Atlanta, GA.
I was turned onto them per the recommendation of one track in particular, “Lullabies For War”, which is the opening track on their new album So Happy, It’s Sad. I was told that it was as though the spirit of Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill) was floating throughout the song, his style and influence felt throughout. In no way discrediting the band for their writing, I can say that this is 100% true. This track would be absolutely perfect in a Silent Hill game, capturing that mysterious, foggy, haunting atmosphere that we’ve come to know and love so well.
