Ronnie Lott – Amputates Pinkie to Keep Playing
Lott had his pinkie crushed by a tackle from running back Timmy Newsome in the 1985 season. Bone graft surgery to repair the pinkie would have meant Lott would have to sit out the 1986 season, so he chose to have it amputated so he would be able to play. You have to give him points for commitment!
